  1. Talked to the guy earlier today, .50 would be super sturdy considering that the solana is built out of .25 thick glass.

BUT... The glass that guy has is not tempered but IT IS tinted... so no go unless you want your tank to look super weird. It's too bad cause I was ready to head down there and start my next big project.

  2. Chewie, I don't know who built the tank I picked it up when I was in California for $150, I was told it was made by Visio but I really have no clue since there's no markings on it and I bought it used. But its been solid and kept the nems happy for the past year, it's nothing really spectacular but then again I'm used to owning Envision tanks so it's hard to make much of a comparison. I've got another James tank in the garage, that's my winter project. Rocks and sand have all been moved to the rubbermaids in the garage till then.

The price says make an offer, if your actually interested in it then make one you guys... I priced it the way I did because this site isn't much different than craigslist these days. If I priced the tank with the sump stand and light for $325 I'd have everybody offering me $100 so... yeah.

I paid $150 for the tank and another $150 for the sump. Plumbing with the unions bulkheads spa flex etc. plus some 2x4's and screws and time to build the stand (just needs to be pained and skinned) and figured I'd throw the light in for $325.

But... Like I said you offer someone a good deal and they still offer you $100.

Jon, I'll have to stop by the shop and say hi it's been a while. What days are you there?

  3. Selling my anemone tank to make room for the new tank.

36x18x17 Pretty much a 40 breeder just an inch taller and with a glass eurobrace. 1" overflow drilled in the back with a 3/4 return in the center.

Tank, Eshopps sump, Stand (solid as a rock just never finished it) and all the plumbing.

$325 Or shoot me an offer...

The light is a 175w halide with some compacts, nothing special but I'll give someone a good deal on it if they want it with the tank.

Return pump, reactors and heater pictured not included.

  4. A purple tang in a 34g? Baaaad idea unless you want it to be the only fish in the tank and a 34g is way too small for any tang to be perfectly honest.

I have a purple tang in the big cube and I'm doing rehab on the sohal it almost killed that was almost twice the purples size. Most people don't know that purple tangs are one of the most aggressive fish out there. EXTREMELY territorial! Another one of those that are better as your last fish addition.

  5. Wow, nobodies looking for a nice rbta?

Are the prices too high? I thought they were pretty fair prices considering I see the large ones sell for about $125 and the medium ones sell for $99

  6. I have two Rose anemones that need to find a good home, I've decided to tear down my anemone tank to make room for the new bigger tank.

One is about 10" and the other is about 5"

$75 for the larger one and $50 for the smaller.

I'm open to offers as well but not interested in trades.

  7. LOL, I glanced at this on my phone when I was out in my shop then figured i'd go inside and pm him about it. Guess I shouldn't have waited the 30 min or so to come inside...

And yes it will look good in either of our sps tanks =)

  8. Sol, That stand was made by Scott aka Spectra on here. Scott just did a bunch of steel work for me and if anybody wants a steel stand he's the guy to talk to! Scott's an artist when it comes to metal fab!

  9. I would say something has to be scaring your goby, I had a diamond who would go missing and I'd find him in the backside of my nano about once a week. After about the 3rd week while watching tv I heard this nice thump against the top on the nano, I noticed my kole tang was chasing him around and his idea of an escape was straight up into the lid and bounce himself into the back of the tank. Goby's don't normally just jump for no reason.

Sand sifting stars help but there's nothing better than a goby to keep your sand nice and white. Just make sure your rock work is set on the bottom of your tank!
