  1. Come on fellow reefers, surely we could get some more people to go in on this. The price is insanely cheap!

Bump Bump for a great deal!

Yea you and Mytshall are the only ones wanting them now, and I have three waiting on taxes and other ways to pay so.........if you guys really need them, you may try hunting some other means down. Like I said, I think 6 from the club will get them ordered, and we have 3 for sures and 3 when they get the funds. If we get to five, and he wants to order with a 6th I will just buy it and when someone gets the funds they can pay. I really wish I hadnt got my 2 yet, I think Mytshall said he could possibly stretch a third and EBay it, that makes 4 and I get someone one and ..........still one short
  2. These are the remaining ones, a friend bought 3 yesterday.

The pictures arent the best, the colors are all bright and continuous, whites are whit, reds are red, my white balance on my camera must be set wrong

Ones that need fixing, the link I provided has the replacement bulbs, or sign shops can fix them, obviously they will be cheaper

  3. i have two ss from my last tank and two directional prop style flow pumps and like you have no dead spots random flowfor a lot less jack in my 200 gal. I know you guys like your mp's but there are plenty of options to look at. I would still not choose a mp for my cube because i will only mount these flow devises on the back wall the other three sides are viewable.
I think thats where vortechs shine the most, as long as you have 2-1/4" behind the tank

and Im suprised no one has shot a video of when they first install these, the crap that comes out of every crevice is amazing and its one of the times you get to witness the powerful Undertow these produce as it pulls things at high speeds across the bottom of the tank without blowing any sand. This video is kinda crappy but if you watch the bottom it sort of demonstrates it

  4. i don't sugest mp40 in my case I dont think they are a good fit. I cannot control the direction of the flow enough and for 750 bucks for two of them for my tank I think there are a lot of other flow options.
They flow everywhere, unlike directionals that shoot a skinnier stream. In my 155gal I cant see a single place that doesnt have current and realistic current at that. I had listed last week people could have got 2 MP40s for $660, still alot of money but what else has the width/power/flexibility/nite mode/feed mode/reef crest/lagoon/pulses (waves) and looks great in the tank for that price?
  5. As in Michelob, Coors, Budwieser....etc , etc. we have probably a dozen. Was going to put them around our pool table but they just dont work with certain shots

I will take pics if someones really interested and discuss pricing as well. I was suprised to find an identical sign to one of ours selling for $350 used on ebay, I was thinking $100 a pop would be too much but they are all Multi colored.

One of them is a guitar Budweiser sign with a broken tube, I checked and it can be fixed http://www.steinville.com/Budweiser.htm or you can take it to a sign company.

  6. Did he say how many he wanted in the group? we doing it as members only? Anyone else want in on a Group buy? I want Flourescent Purple Vase Sponge, Australian White Lightning, and probably some orange, red, blue and yellows.

I can call him when we find out if more want in

  7. I have to say the reviews gave me a good chuckle, a guy had a 29 gal aquarium and said he used to spend 40 minutes to do a water change.........good stuff there.

Im kinda like Reefnjunkie, I have 2 big black 30 gallon rubbermaid trash cans, I throw the RO/DI tube in one and let her rip for 6-10 hours. Time invested so far, about 10 seconds if Im drunk.

about half way full I dump salt in knowing close to what it takes, throw a Koralia in and stir it hard with my arm for about 10 seconds, I may have all of 2 minutes invested by now.

When its full I grab the heater from my sump and throw er in there when morning Halides come on, 20 more seconds.

After 24 hours of being full now comes the time consuming part, I run a 3/4 clear tubing to the drain from a 700 gph MJ in my sump. Plug in MJ and start draining the sump. Shut off Protien skimmer, CA/Phosphate reactors and turn off return pump. This is by far the longest and hardest part and takes about 10 minutes if I actually sit there and watch.

Doing it this way its always 30 gallons by how low I have my return lines in the tank (when theyre done draining and I empty the sump its 30 gallons on the money.

Then I pull the MJ out of the sump and throw it in the new water and let er rip back into the sump while plugging everything back in return pump last after sump is almost full.

I would be seriously suprised if I spend 25 minutes on everything and I sit there and monkey around with stuff.

  8. Be careful with sponges; many are hard to keep alive and many are also toxic. Nothing crashes a tank better than a big' date=' dying sponge. Well, maybe a big, dying sea-apple perched upon a big, dying sponge... but you get the idea ;-)[/quote']This actually made me laugh...Good Stuff

I am certainly interested in Flourescent Purple Vase Sponge, Australian White Lightning Sponge anything above and beyond that is a bonus!
