  1. PM Sent - I would like to buy it
  2. Hi All Can anyone recommend a place where I can get a Dolphin AmpMaster Pump Fixed? If not do you know of any retailers that carry them? I bought a refurbished pump that runs loud and heats the tank through the roof. And the last time I tried It would not even start. It had a 90 day warranty but I did not even hook it up for at least 120 days. Thanks
  3. Your ricordia is gorgeous. And is that some sort of blenny or goby in the last picture? What are the tank specs?
  4. Thanks Ryan. I have heard good things about Sequence pumps. I might just take that advice.
  5. Thanks lquidglass. The 4-way is perfect though I am having problems with my dolphin refurbished closed loop pump. It is noisy and adds to much heat to the water. I plan on switching to a smaller pump for the loop once I get the cash.
  6. I believe that the liquid glass prefers to be filled with tea rather than coffee...
  7. Christmas Party It was cool except that Pat from PFOs presentation on LED hoods made me feel slightly inadequate There were some good prizes and frags to be had. If you like DTs food then it was the place to be for sure...I think everyone walked out of there with far more phyto than they brought.
  8. Information has come to light that the hapless recipient of the duel caffeinated white elephant was not dsoz. I am sure I will figure out the mystery eventually.
  9. Blue Angel Thanks Michael. I have to admit I did not think enough about the angel eating my corals. It is small but I plan on it getting very large one day. So far it eats everything I put in. Formula 1 and 2, mysis, and flake. I really hope it works out because it is a beautiful and very friendly fish but over time I want the corals to take center stage. Fred
  10. I started this saga in february and last week I was finally able to add some fish and corals. Here is the tank after one month of cycling. Here is the tank after two months of cycling. My first two fish. A blue angelfish named agave after the blue agave tequila cactus and a royal gramma basslet named twofer... Two colors for one. Tank Stats: 140 gallon in wall acrylic aquarium 72x18x24 50 gallon aquarium converted into a 3 chamber sump Dolphin Amp Master 3700S Pump for closed loop Blue Line 40 Aqua Pump for the sump return Oceans Motion 4-way for alternating current in the closed loop Lighting is not yet up to snuff - 2 X 175 MH - I plan on 2 x 400 watt MH with Actinics VHO but I really want to win the lottery so I can get LEDs I still need a skimmer and calcium reactor
  11. My New 140 Gallon This 140 gallon in wall tank has been running for 2 months. I just added the first two fish inhabitance last week. A blue angelfish and a royal gramma basslet. You can see them in the photo below next to the xenia frag I got from the Christmas party frag auction. Xenia for five bucks at the frag auction. This is the coffee I got from the white elephant gift exchange at the PNWMAS Christmas party. This gift of coffee was first picked up by someone (dsoz?). He does not drink coffee and I am hooked on the stuff so I stoled it from him. He then picked a new gift which turned out to be the organic coffee I Brought
  12. Duh!! Oh hell I just noticed that you are in Eugene. Yes I have to admit that this hobby has made me very familiar with the irrational side of things but Eugene is out of my range. Thanks for the kind offer though.
  13. Xenia Hi I just setup a 140 gallon tank but I went broke in the process. It has been cycling for two months with live rock but it needs some life besides snails and hermits. This huge tank would love to have a chunk of xenia. I don't have any rotifer culture or frags to trade yet... If you are willing I have a great home for them. You can see the empty tank at my site that is very much under construction: www.myreefaquarium.com Thanks
  14. Thanks Thanks Brandy and Garrett. I also like the fuge. I did not have the guts to drill the BioCube so I just pump water out of the tank into the fuge that is higher up than the tank for the overflow.
  15. YouTube Video Hi All Check out my YouTube video of my 29 gallon. Just killing time with my BioCube while my 140 gallon cycles...finally! Fred
  16. Thanks all for the comments and the meeting invites. I was out of town and missed the farmers market...bummer. I am going to try to make the picnic.
  17. Thanks everyone for the comments! Impur: The Flame Angel (Sparky) is a model citizen. He hangs out with the Six Line Wrase (Sixer) and has caused no trouble for about three months. I feed fairly lightly and even then no problems. Dsoz: Thanks for the welcome and invite. I will make it out to a meeting for sure. The tank lighting is stock but I added a 15 gallon refugium. My refugium setup is a little janky but I love the idea of more water volume, cheato and micro critters. It is a work in progress but already I think it has helped my numbers stay excellent. I just posted pics here: http://www.loopdaddy.com/plantedreef/biocube/refugium.html. I often go to nano-reef.com. It is a great site but I have yet to post. I will very soon. I have been taking pictures of the 140 the entire way and it has been an odyssey to say the least. I just posted a couple to the above URL and I will tell the entire story one day. I am glad I did not know what I was getting into. I just happened across a used 140 and it has been a vortex ever since. And Mister Crabs I can highly recommend the BioCube 29. I got the 29 gallon as a learning tank to take the pressure off the larger 140 build so I could do it right. Now that the 29 is getting established I am certain I will keep both tanks in the end. Nothing like having a 29 gallon reef on your desk.
  18. Hi All I am a new member and I want to say hi post some of my new pictures. My 29 gallon BioCube started cycling March 1st this year. I have always had planted aquariums and this is my first reef. So far so good. http://www.loopdaddy.com/plantedreef/biocube/ I look forward to attending an event soon. It seems that this reef keeping stuff is pretty addictive. Fred
  19. That is great news. Maybe if it is a success then it will be done again and I will be able to make it next year.
  20. The website sure seems to think it is happening. It sounded cool so I hope it works out. I still have the ticket but it looks like you can still get them for $15.00. For one tiny zoo frag it could be yours
  21. I bought a $15.00 advanced ticket for this event and then discovered that I was going to be out of town on Saturday August 4th 2007. http://www.pnwmas.org/newsite/cfm.html I think tickets cost more now. I want to trade my ticket for a Zoo Frag or something that can enjoy my 29 gallon BioCube. Any takers? I am on the Portland West Side and I am In NE daily. I can deliver. http://www.loopdaddy.com/plantedreef/biocube/ Thanks
