I agree with long acclimations, but on some sites they way they show you to drip acclimate for 3 hrs your sort of defeating the purpose....The temps can drop 10 degrees. I prefer the float the bag with the edges rolled down then add water from your tank to the bag this way your bag has temp acclimated also. JMO

Could it have been spoiled food? Like bad DT's or something?

Oh YEAH !!!!!! haha ALL the time !!! I have a bad addiction to that store.
Got the clam at the top yesterday...have no idea why it photographed blue because it's a gorgeous electric green...go figure lol. In fact everything in this photo is from Oasis...green BN, 'shroom, bam bams, green zoas, and both clams a blue maxima and green crocea.
Minni,
Did you take the picture through the glass or from the top? I took a few pics today from above and they came out green. Under 10k

Just out of curiosity, will it kill bacteria? I know a few people who have FOWLR tank and have a hard time keeping nitrates down. I know they're dirty fish, but if the copper reduces bacteria wouldn't that compound the problem?

We snorkeled Molokini, saw some of the biggest lobsters ever, could have ate my Weiner dogs easy! Maui aquarium was awesome. I have also been to Monterey, Newport and Shark Reef in Vegas. Don't waste the money in Vegas, one of the saddest things I've ever seen. Most of the fish had LLE, fin rot and just looked like a sick fish dumping grounds and it cost some where around ? $18 (flame)

I'd love to go, but I'm always working. My next day off will be "Iron Maiden" then I'll be back to work for a while.

What are your temps, euphyllia usually seems to be the first to go when it's to warm.
Last summer during the heat wave almost everyone I know lost at least some.

Krylon Fusion works well, and only comes in about a dozen colers so that'll help you choose.

I think the only other thing to think of is if you were running a basking lamp in the tank you might want to double check the seal. Ya know the extreme heat.
Just a thought.

What Kelvin are your bulbs, and the shops? IME crocea's do better under 10k's,but like I said thats just what I have experinced.

If he's in a large rock and you want to get rid of him, you can fill his hole with super glue gel.(enforcer)
Just watch your fingers, they will protect themselves.

I have a friend with an extreme case of Spionid Worms, to the point of irritating coral and polyps to death. Any ideals how to get rid of them?
Thanks,

Squirts are fine but what if they are next to another anemone, I have to be sure it won't kill them first. Have you used this product before? Are there any warnings on using it near other corals/anemones?
I've had really good look with it. It's pretty think and comes with a little syringe. just shoot some in from of the aptasia and it sucks it in and is gone the next day, never had any collateral damage.

Blue Life make an aptasia killer that works real well, no need to inject just a little squirt.
Bubble coral on the other hand is a lot of work. If it's just a few rocks in extreme cases I have found that taking the rock out and spraying with a garden hose blasting it off. Probably not recommended, but has worked for me.

I have a orange spotted prawn goby, I have had him for about 2 weeks.
Does anyone have any experience getting them to eat? I had a diamond goby once (I thought that's what he was, thats why I got him) and he would come out and eat from my hand. This guy though will only make occasional grabs. I've tried diced shrimp, pellets, and brine shrimp all to little avail. At most he'll eat a pellet or brine shrimp or two, but the rest will blow past his face. I hate to see him starve, but I also hate to boost my nitrates because he won't eat. The current past his hole is pretty strong, so small stuff doesn't stick around.
Any advice?
You might try fozen Cyclo-peeze or even the wafers, got my clown gobies to eat.
Or live brine.

Any pond people out there?

I have a small 1000 gal pond, with mix of Koi and Shubunkins.
Water cress works very good for water clarifying. You can go to the supermarket and get it from the salad area in those little clam shells pack. Theres no roots on it , but just tuck some in around moving water and it grows like crazy. As long as it don't freeze solid the fish go to the bottom and go dormant.
PS Stay away from water Iris, I had one in a 1 gallon pot ended up weighing about 300 pounds.
