  1. My sister lives up there and is a teacher too. I'll see if she wants it.
  2. I know barleycuda Dave is running an extensive vodka reactor setup. He explained it to me before he went up to the conference in Tri Cities. He runs a non sulfur reactor to dose his vodka. Sounds like it really keeps his large clown system running at a much lower nitrate level than before. I hope he can share the details again on here. Here is a link to a non-sulfur nitrate reactor: http://www.theaquariumsolution.com/feeding-nitrate-reactor The D-D site has some interesting clues on the troubleshooting page. I see a diy project coming on.
  3. You lucky duck. That IS Eric's favorite coral. I am surprised he sold some to you.
  4. I would say yes. The coralife digital thermometers are the worst. I have tried two in one tank that measured 4 degrees different.
  5. Isn't it sad that we trust a .99 cent thermometer over our fancy electronic devices?
  6. The mj mods would be controllable as well. They may be cheaper than to koralia 2's controlled. The koralia 2 looks nicer but that is just personal preference I guess. Of course you could go with a vortech mp10 and have a controllable wavemaker for 195 bucks.
  7. Yes! This is very cool. Keep is updated. I like the idea of a frag tank that is similar in size to your display. That should provide a lot of stability. A Proust to Triple B!(drinking)

    Candy Basslet

Check out this basslet. When you change the color of the stripes you get a 90% discount!! http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+2124+1436&pcatid=1436
  9. That is a cool SI cover but it does make me nervous too. I hope Masoli can stay healthy.
  10. And coral? Are you going for mushrooms or lps of some sort? Light feeders I assume.
  11. Trimma goby trio!!!! They would be awesome in here.
  12. It is a nice tank. I too saw it. I do not believe it is starfire. I looked to the side and it has a green tinge. Still, it is a nicely made tank. My favorite tank they have in there right now is a marineland 45 shallow cube. It is very nice indeed though not rimless.
  13. Do you have sand? If you do not then, I say go for it! With sand you will be annoyed and have the stuff flying all over especially if you have sugar sand.
  14. Sorry for your loss. Those are just beautiful fish. And yes, heat is on all our minds. Keep thinkin good thoughts and blow fans blow!!!
  15. Fraggle reef has these . They charge 19.99 per frag not including shipping. So 6 bucks versus 20 IS a good deal! http://www.fragglereef.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3952&zenid=6b0949f0d545dd4043516636de8e207f
  16. That sounds like a fair price considering you will most likely have 3 new polyps after a couple of weeks. Clove polyps are the nicest soft coral imo. They are easy, pretty and not as invasive as xenia.
  17. I love fans. At school, the 80 reef is a steady 78. One on top above display. And one blowin the sump these days.
  18. It is close to my school!!! Wish you weren't leaving. Guess you won't be part of the River Road Reef Posse anymore.
  19. That is terrible Clay. I know someone who is pretty close with the folks at Bell real Estate. They have a lot of places around town and are reputable. Let me know if you want the contact.
  20. Nice work Clay. Man, I gotta come and see this. I need to meet you too man. Where is your tattoo shop?
  21. I like the frag tank idea or a nano tank. Downgrade to two nanos and build two unique environments you have not tried before.
  22. Here are some pics from January that jay took. Also, there are the pics that Shawn took of collection in my coldwater tank. I took almost 100 pictures. I put them in slideshows rather than trying to post all the pics. Here is a slideshow of the Acan Fraggin. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...view=slideshow Slideshow of the Tank Drilling. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...view=slideshow Slideshow of DIY Rock. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...view=slideshow Slideshow of Joel's Coldwater Tank. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...view=slideshow Slideshow of Joel's Clown Tank. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...view=slideshow Slideshow of Joel's Coral Tank. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...view=slideshow This thread also shows the tidepool construction by James at Acrylics. Very cool and probably one of the firsts in the tft program http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3051&highlight=tidepool Hope you enjoy the pics.
  23. I have added colored markers to this map. All blue markers are PNWMAS Sponsors. They may honor a discount with a current PNWMAS card. The red markers represent stores that carry saltwater fish but have not acquired sponsorship. Hope this helps. Remember, support your local LFS!!!!!!!! And remember our sponsors on this map. You may even encourage non-sponsors to become sponsors.
  24. A great reef calculator. http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chem_calc3.html
  25. Thanks Moderator 6 for sticking it. And also, I added Oasis Tropical Fish in Redmond. Woo Hoo gotta represent the CO Reefers.
