  1. That is what keeps me from going on a vacation! I'm truly sorry.

    Desjardini tang

    Wow! What a beauty!
  3. I currently have a 55 gallon tank with a Yellow Tang. I'm really a huge fan of the Surgeonfish and would like to keep more than one. I'm in the process of setting up a 165G tank and was wondering if this was big enough that I could keep more than one? I'd be happy if I could add a Purple Tang to the tank (along with the Yellow I already have). I'd be ecstatic if I could keep more than two. Other inhabitants are a Maroon Clown, Falco's Hawkfish, Yellow Watchman Gobie, Bi-Color Blennie, Pistol Shrimp, Brittle Star, Snails & Hermits. What are your thoughts?
  4. I'm moving in with my girlfriend and we have both well water and city water available for use. Does anyone out here use well water for their tank? I have an RO/DI unit I use for filtering the water and I run a UV sterilizer. Does anyone see a problem here? Should I have the water tested before I try and use it? I can use city water, it's no problem but where I'm locating the tank has a water outlet (on well water) close by and it would be very convenient to use this outlet. What are your thoughts?

    OCA Pic's

I loved the pictures of the Wolf Eels! I was a commercial crabber out of Florence, OR for a couple years. In the summer when our gear was shallow, we'd pull up the occasional pot with one of those suckers in it! I have to admit, the first time it scared the crap out of me
  6. Once again, thanks for the warm welcome. I'll try to take some pictures. I just bought a new Canon Powershot G7 that has a mode just for shooting tanks. I'm itching to try it out.
  7. Thanks for the warm welcome. My tank is a standard 55G FOWLR, 60lbs live rock, 2 inch deep live sand bed, 40G sump, small CPR hang on back refugium, power compact lights, and Pacific Coast Imports PS-250L Protein Skimmer. Residents are: Maroon Clown, Yellow Tang, Bi-Color Blennie, Falco's Hawkfish, Yellow Watchman Gobie, Pistol Shrimp, Brittle Starfish, various snails and small hermits. I have an Tru-View 80G tank that everybody will be moving into in June when we move into a new house. I will be changing to Metal Halides with this tank. As for the reef, I'm still in the planning stages (I don't want to start it until after I move in June).
  8. Hi All, My name is Terry and I just joined PNWMAS. I've kept FOWLR tanks for a couple years now and am currently planning my first reef tank. I've already got a ton of good information off these boards and really look forward to contributing when I can as well as meeting some of you in person at one of the meetings. Cheers.
  9. I love the Mangrove! Where did you find one that big?
