  1. older model, Ill get a picture once I clean it some. Just dirty, no cracks or anything like that.

Just replaced the pump about a month ago with a Sicce 2500. I have two different needle wheels for it. I believe I have the orig pump also somewhere that was still somewhat working but was pulling high wattage. Probably just needed cleaning but replaced it anyways.

Just too small either way for my 300+ gallon setup.

120.00 bucks shipped which is basically the price of the pump and the extra needle-wheel impeller.

  2. Just installed a SRO-5000 external on my 300 gallon and definitely impressed with it. I was way under sized skimmer wise with my old NW200 with the Sicce pump.

Would of went with the new XP 5000 skimmer but it was too tall by about 1/2". :(

  3. Kenny transporting live rocks doesn't mean you have to place it in water. Live rocks are heavy as it is, use wet newspapers to cover the rocks. In two hours time with live rocks it should be ok. I ordered live rocks from across the world and that's how they ship it to me. It would be a good idea for you to use floor bracing due to the total weight of tank with live rocks, sand, canopy, stand, etc.. With a 240 gal tank fully up and running estimated weight would be over 3500 lbs. That's exactly like parking a semi truck inside your house.

That would be the lightest semi truck ever. LOL

My 300 gallon is on my second floor, had a 400 gallon prior. However I have multiple support walls directly underneath. I wouldn't put something like that in the middle of the room with nothing under it.

  4. I have three of the dual ones in my tank. They all three work fine, had some problems with the suction cups sometimes coming off but I glued one of the suctions cups to the coraline in my tank and has been holding fine now.

The three I have seem to always start the right way and I have yet to clean them. Completely quiet too.

I have a dual korilia and it hates to start in the right direction, go figure. Probably needs cleaned.

  5. Blue LEDs on now.

VHO Actinics are running also but they do nothing compared to the LEDs.

Kinda hard to get a real accurate picture of it, but they really really glow. Especially the Acans and rics.

  6. Left side is where the LED is, the rest is lit right now with 2 250W DE Phoenix 14k's. Its quite a bit brighter on the left side where the LED's are.

Sorry for the Dirty tank, looks pretty dim but its sunny here and pretty bright. I set the camera pretty close to what it actually looks like right now.

Closer view of right where the LED is. Ill get a picture later tonight with just the blues on.

  7. Old post but I'm working on changing my 300 gallon to all LED now.

Just purchased a Ecoray 60D, pretty impressive little unit.

Pros, pretty bright, its much more directional than some of the other LED units out. I think thats why its so much brighter. Its easily 2x as bright as my 250W DE halides, its just you need two of them to cover roughly the same area. The blues when they come on before the whites are pretty impressive.

Cons, your going to need quite a few. Really Ill be able to get away with 7 of them total. 8 would probably be more ideal but 7 is going to work out fine. Only reason I have to go with so many is to get the same coverage. My tanks 8' long though but the overflows are on each end. Gotta save up my pennies so I can get the rest of them. For now I'm going to run just the 1 I have.

    Zero heat too. Big benefit.
