  1. I have decided to sell my BK skimmer, it's the Mini160 and it is one hell of a skimmer! I have it listed on PNWRK on Facebook as well as the other 2 large forums also. My reason for sale is I think it needs to be on a larger tank. With the loss of my eels, my bio load isn't enough to keep it skimming consistently. I am asking $720 local pickup and $750 shipped. Skimmer will come in original box with all parts and documents. I will post pics in a bit once I get to a computer. No trades please.

    Thanks.

  2. Well it looks like I will keep the tank, my wife has actually requested that I do!  :wife: she says she will even help me with it  I'm worried it may be a trap but I'm going with it. So help me get the rest of this stuff gone! Lowering prices today!

First up is a Blueline 40Hd external pump, new without box. $125

    Thanks!

  3. They are fine IMO, if they are consuming an animal it's because it's not doing well and can't defend itself or its dead. I have tons and they never bother anything. The ones that get giant are Bobbit worms, they will eat livestock but they don't look anything like bristle worms, they have a mouth like the Alien from the Predator movies.

  4. Most RO/DI units use the same components on the outside, the only real difference is the pre-filters themselves since I think most all membranes are made by Dow. I would say focus more on price and what kind of pre-filters you use, micron size, chloramine filters, how many stages, etc. As far as the valve, most units have a separate DI section so you can cut the line between the 2 and add a tee ( I think I might even have one) yourself. You are welcome to come check out my setup I got from BRS to compare.

Also you should think about getting one with a TDS meter to gauge filter changes, I've had DI resin change color completely and still produce zero TDS.

  5. After I first read this thread, I tried peroxide to combat my Dinos and it worked well for me. I followed the 1 mil. per 10 gallons of water each night routine. I also recently cleaned my sump really well along with upgrading my skimmer, none have come back yet.

Edit: I do not have any SPS though, my tank is all softies and anemone's, none of which were bothered by the peroxide.

  6. I'm super stoked tonight, I finally got a second golden dwarf moray. I was able to scoop up Kim's eel and I introduced them tonight. They have kind kept their distance but have rubbed each other several times and no fighting at all! Here's a pic of her

She is way smaller than mine so I'm hoping the size difference will mean different sexes! How cool would that be? BABIES!
