  1. I love them! Thanks again, I will definitely be after more of them in future. You have a great assortment of frags, and a gorgeous reef tank! If you wanna sell that Kalk reactor, let me know
  2. Yes, Andy the height of the lamp in the fixture is everything. It's so important in fact, bend lines and angles are formed around that point in designing a fixture. It's the goal of any reflector to use the reflector to it's maximum capabilities. No square inch of the aluminum should be "dead". This is a major part of what separates the good reflector companies from the bad ones. This is always why standard retro "gull wing" style reflectors are so poor in performance compared to pendants. The light is able to escape from the sides, and goes unused.
  3. Feel free to call me to arrange some testing Andy. Unfortunately, I can't bring people into the lab, (many un-released products), but I would be happy to do it for you and take a bunch of pictures. Nyles, per our phone convo, I'll PM soon about the raw materials... -Sam
  4. Nyles, Nice looking fixture! I would be more than happy to test it out if you're curious on the performance. We have a very nice lighting lab here with many different reflectors for that purpose. The only thing I see could be improved possibly is the placement of the lamp. I would guess the overall performance could be increased by adjusting the height where the lamp is entering the fixture. It would also be in your best interest to make that socket adjustable. Centering the arc tube is crucial. If you look at the top picture you posted, you can see what I mean. Only about 1/3 of the reflector is being fully utilized to reflect the light from the lamp.... Also, I'm curious about the material used. It's not the same as anything we currently use, but it appears to look good. We are using Alanod Miro materials exclusively. The type you may be mistaking this with is called 9033, or commonly referred to as Miro 9. It's textured, but more dimpled. In fact, the reflector Jordan has, the one Joel referred to above uses Miro 9. Check out the pics when they are posted! I hope you don't take this the wrong way, I'm more than impressed with your fixture. The build quality and edges are professional, riveting is super clean, and it's a great design. I just want to see it become the best it can be with a couple minor changes! Sam
  5. Still available.... I did open 1 of the boxes to check it out last night, but they are both still brand new. These have never seen water. Reason for selling: Planned on setting up a new tank, but then realized I should improve on the 90 we already have which has a Dart closed loop. -Sam
  6. Looking for a couple nice cup shaped pieces of Montipora Cap, in orange and green w purple rim. Anybody have nice medium sizes frags?
  7. For sale- 2 BRAND NEW IN BOX Vortech Propeller pumps with wireless wave drivers. They go for 419.99 ea. Comes with (2) 3 packs of foam guards... Those go for 12.00 ea. Total retail value - $863.98 Make reasonable offer! -Sam
  8. Are there any members that know enough about Zeovit to give a seminar at a club meeting? I've seen a few zeovit tanks online and in person with amazing growth and color. I would love to sit down and learn about it. I think it's a very interesting way of reefkeeping. I don't know where to begin though, it seems overwhelming. Any thoughts?
  9. Get the ATB Ryan. I've never smelled nastier skimmate in my life. I picked up an ATB small after seeing one in use on a 120 with a medium bioload. I'm going to break it in on my roommates 90 until my new project gets finished. I'll let you know how it works for him. He currently has a mid size (not sure model number) Euro-Reef which does a good job. I'm curious to see if it will do better.
  10. In the process of re-doing the office tank, looking to sell this off to fund coral purchases.... Works great, looks great. Willing to part with it, as I'm going more softy/lps, and don't need the same amount of flow. Email me at samR@sunlightsupply.com if you're interested. THANKS!! -Sam
  11. If it doesn't sell today, I will.
  12. First person to give me 175 takes it. -Sam
  13. Randy, I haven't had a single issue with it. It functions properly, it's easy to work with, and it looks nice. The fact that it looks nice is the reason I wanted it. Sounds dorky, but its the truth. I haven't had it long enough to give a proper review, but I'll do so in a month or so. -Sam
  14. Drock, It's probably the old style, and I don't have pics. I wasn't aware of a "new" version. I haven't stayed very current on the ER line. I recieved a few PM's, call me if you're interested. I'll PM you with my info -Sam
  15. For sale: Euro-Reef RS6-1. I'm almost positive that is the right part #. It's perfect on 90G tanks or smaller. Nice skimmer in excellent shape. Someone gave me an ATI Bubble Master to review, and I decided to hang on to it. Great deal $225 firm. -Sam
  16. His talk was on how they are being infected, what to look for/avoid, and what exporters need to do to avoid this problem. He showed a bunch of slides on sick ones, red spots found on all of them, and how they look at different stages of decomposition under the scope. It's going to take some time to teach exporters/wholesalers/retailers what to avoid, and how to house/ship. It's going to be years before the return of the die-hard elegance coral.
