  2. after talking directly with coralvue, i decided to go with the bubble blaster pump. they use both pumps on their skimmers and apparently the bubble blaster is definitely the better product when it comes to performance, materials used, design and usage. thanks for the input everyone, im hoping to have my new skimmer next week!

  3. from what i understand, ferric oxide is the coffee ground stuff that makes up both rowaphos and phosban. this material absorbs phosphate and does not release it after saturation. depending on how high your phosphates were to begin with, the material could exhaust itself within two weeks or six weeks...i probably would assume it was exhausted by six weeks.

aluminum oxide, the white balls sold under phosguard or brightwells extras phos, will absorb lots of phosphate quickly...but then releases it back in the water after five or so days, from my understanding. i even read that aluminum levels in the aquarium increase after its use and it may or may not have a negative affect on leathers.

i dont tend to use the AO unless there are high levels of phosphate. i may use it initially to get a substantial amount out before i switch to FO to maintain a lower level. i prefer phosban because of its granule size. rowaphos has such a fine grain that it often ends up all over the bottom of my sump.

  4. older korallia evo pumps had problems with their impellers reversing due to faulty bushings. most noticeable for people using them on wave timers. if you write the hydor company via their website theyll send you out the new bushings for free.

  5. ok so this is my problem:

i have an xbox 360 downstairs. my modem and router are upstairs. for years ive been using a 50 ft ethernet cable to connect the two. its not long enough to do this conspicuously...so its draped over a banister down the wall over the carpet. major tripping hazard. girlfriend not pleased.

so a friend came by, unraveled his spool of cat5 ethernet cable and we ran it upstairs very well. perfectly hidden. maybe 75 feet used.

this is where it gets weird.

if this cable is plugged into the router and then plugged into the 360 downstairs, the 360 will not be able to connect to the internet. it wont even recognize its hooked up to anything.

but if you hook the other end from the router to a lap top...it will connect to the internet just fine.

ive had two friends with networking experience over and we have gone over everything to try to figure this out to no avail. now, i would like to pull from your collective experience. any ideas? anyone want to come over and fiddle around with it over a beer?

    suggestions? ideas? solutions? anything?!

  6. i started a thread on RC asking about where in italy to acquire this hgh in 2004 before i left for there. unfortunately the thread was immediately closed because the chemical was illegal here in the states and i was forbidden from discussing it apparently.

but the tanks i have seen using this growth hormone have sps that literally crowd the box of glass they are in. its pretty incredible.
