Panty hose would work, or you could buy a large sponge for filters and cut it to fit snug around the pump. Walmart sells all kinds of polyester type materials so any of those would work and be cheap. Since you are going to have to replace it often you could use a zip tie or rubber bands to hold it on.

Wow i might have to head up there this weekend. Five Guys here i come!!!

Kinda looks like the hawaiian hermits Garrett has.

I have only 1 drain on my cube and i use a durso. I found that if you increase the size of the pipe before it exits thru the bulkhead it really helps with the noise. My bulkheads are 1", so i used 1.25" PVC for all the durso parts that go in the overflow, then used a reducing bushing right before the bulkhead.

Might check out RC sale threads too, can catch a good deal there for pumps sometimes.

IMO you should dip and QT EVERYTHING that goes into your tank for at the very very minimum 4 weeks. This is the only way to avoid pests and give yourself peace of mind.

I did something like Michael but i used one of these. I like a 2-3" sandbed as well

Robert i don't have one to sell but i have an eheim that you could borrow until you track one down if need be.

I love the ipod in my iphone, hate the iphone hate itunes. I use Sharepod to transfer music to my ipod works great. Can't wait until September so i can ditch the iphone for good!! I'll never own an Apple product again.
My new truck has XM satallite radio, or is it Sirius now? Either way, its ok but i'm not going to pay for it after the trial period. It cuts out all the time, and its difficult to find a station that plays songs you like. Usually its 1 or 2 songs you like mixed in with 15 you have never heard of or don't like.

You use two ballasts or one?
His post says its a dual 250w

Jacob do you have a multi tester? I'd break that out and get to testing. If you don't i have one and can help you out this weekend or something.

Good choice Jose, I have almost grabbed one of those DD tanks 3 or 4 times they are so cool (laugh)
And i agree about the depth, my 24" cube is a little too deep for my liking.

I have comcast also, TV with all HD channels, HBO, Starz, Cinemax, internet and a phone line that I don't use. I pay 130 a month. I don't mind calling to get it reduced every 6m, its only 2 calls a year and it never takes longer than 10min. 20m of my time each year is surely worth the $500-$600 I save each year doing it.
I would pay more for comcast too. I love getting all the Duck and Blazer games in HD.

Yah i think you didn't have much cycle at all. I did the same thing in my 60 cube, half rock from Garretts and half dry rock. I am at 16 days and still no ammonia or NO3. I went a step further and put a bunch of corals in there, and i'm feeding flake food daily also.
Keep it up, your patience is definitely going to pay off with that tank.

Very cool Upinder!! I'm going to do this for my fermentation enclosure i plan to build for brewing this summer, but it looks like it works great for our tanks too. Great job!
