RO/DI Auto Top off

drock, I use a system similar to what you are considering. I have a solenoid on the input to my ro unit that is plugged into a timer that comes on for a hour, twice a day. I then have the output of the ro hooked up to a Kent float switch in my sump. I figured that all three items, the solenoid, timer, and float switch would all have to fail at the same time for there to be a major problem. I really don't have room for a reservoir of water next to my tank so this has been working for me for a couple of years without a problem. BTW, the dual switches that Joe sells are very nice.
