siskiou
Do they generally live peacefully or will the pistol make a meal of the cleaner shrimp? This would be in a 120G tank.
andy
If the pistol shrimp gets wind of the cleaner, it's toast.
spectra
Have never heard of that before. My sons nano has a pistol shrimp about 1 inch long and also a fire shrimp that is about 2 inchs long. They live togehter in a 12g AP with no issues.
andy
Pistol Shrimp are predators on shrimp and other similar crustaceans... it's what's for dinner THe size difference between the two probably enters into it. Mr. Fire Shrimp better hope that the pistol shrimp stays... well... shrimpy Check this out:
siskiou
Well, my pistol shrimp is definitely not "shrimpy". He's 3 or 4 years old by now and is probably a good two inches long. I guess no cleaner shrimp then.
AquaticEngineer
I got a 1.5" pistol shrimp in my 15gallon along with a beast of a harlequin shrimp. The pistol rules the subsrate and I haven't seen the harelquin go near the bottom of the tank since the pistol went in. Seems like they are keeping their distance even though the harlequin is probably double the pistols' size.

Hopefully the fire shrimp sticks to rocks where there wont be any trouble.

andy
LOL, maybe it has something to do with the size of the shrimp
