SnowboardKid26
I'm going to be using it until I can figure out my ro unit. the water comming out is really high in po4. around 0.4. hmmm.....
impur
Sounds like you need to change the filters in the unit. I used water from walmart for almost a year in my nano, the stuff with the purple label, and never had a problem.
SnowboardKid26
Still doing the water changes... don't know if its helping. Seems like i run po4 sponge for a couple of days, take it out, and the PO4 is back up to 0.5 or worse a day or 2 later. doesn't seem to be hurting anything... SPS has good polyp extension, but the hair algae.... AHHHH!!!!

AHHHH!!!![/quote'] when you do your water changes use a siphon, pull off the siphon and use just the hose, using the hose just siphon what you can "Pinching" the siphon tube and pulling the elgae off the rock, this will remove any spores released when you trim it and keep it from spreading. Do that twice a week for a while and it should disapear if your water perameters are doing well.
SnowboardKid26
would there be any reason that my SPS seems to be browning out a little?
impur
Definately P04.
SnowboardKid26
I was unaware that P04 would affect SPS corals. but at least its not another problem to battle.
impur
P04 = SPS death. phosphates inhibit coral calcification.
SnowboardKid26
Well.. my nitrates are down to 0.1 for now. we'll see how fast they climb again. I really need to get a phos reactor.
