mrjoshua82
I have a patch of cyanobacteria that is growing on a piece of live rock that is home to a colony of yellow polyps. It seems to almost completely disappear at night but it grows back throughout the day and it seems to be getting a itsy bit larger. I hate it(flame) It is difficult to scrape and syphon out because it is growing in the middle of the yellow polyps. Should I shut the lights off for a couple days? I've heard that can help. Its not really a big problem as of yet...just really annoying. Any advice will help. Thanks again;)
dsoz
try less drastic measures first. Feed less. I usually only feed the fish every other day. They can hunt for pods if they get hungr. reduce the lighting period to 6 hours a day. Do a 20% water change. Point a powerhead at the place that has the cyano. If all of these things don't help, then do the days with no light trick. dsoz
