Kevinmc
Do emerald crab eat any benifical growth off of live rock? I spotted tonight a large emerald in my tank pinching off good size chunks of rock that had purple alge growth off of my rocks, is this normal? Thanks Kevin
Michael7979
Yeah its normal for them to scrap algae off the rock. Algae is their main source of food.
R-3
Yep totally normal. They will always find something to eat. Later Ryan

Kevinmc
I have not had a problem with Emerald Crab eating tankmates; however I have had large hermit that will feast on my snails.
missionsix66
Emerald crabs are omnivores. Mainly looking for algae, but, will eat various meaty foods if there isn't sufficient macro/algae for it to eat.
