jayR
New to the NW and this cold weather is giving me the chills!! What temp does everyone keep their tanks at? This will be a FOWLR setup. I've got a 210G in the garage & was just wondering what temp would be opitmal.
impur
I maintain my tank at 79.5. Sometimes it gets slightly higher, in which case a fan kicks on. Sometimes it gets slightly lower, and the heater takes care of that I think a good point to shoot for is 80 degrees +/- 2 degrees won't hurt a bit. But the most important thing IMO is keeping it steady. You don't want it to fluctuate more than a degree or 2.
spectra
Mine fluctuates alot but it has been that way for the life of the tank and everything seems to like it. Have seen it as low as 75 and as high as 80 on the warmer days.
dsoz
Mine stays about a constant 80 degrees. It is in the basement that stays a constant cool temperature, and I have two heaters in it (one set at 80 and the other at 79) to keep it nice and warm. dsoz
Michael7979
I like to shoot for the upper 70's, ....(77-79)
pledosophy
I shoot for 72 for the seahorse setup and 78 for the reef. I like things a bit colder, and different stock have different temperature needs. If I could keep the seahorses at a constant 69F I would, but it fluctuates to much without having a chiller.
