Freshwater led

Talon

Recommended Posts

Depends on the fixture quite a bit. If this light was intense enough to grow plants, it will grow lower light corals for sure. Most planted FW led fixtures use white leds. White leds of any color temp have huge blue peaks in their spectrums. The corals won't look pretty, but they will grow. One of the best MH coral growout bulbs ever is the Iwaski 6500K, which also grows plants like crazy too.

You would be lacking the blues you need if it's a planted freshwater light. Also I think the spectrums wouldn't be correct. And if it's not planted just for light to see fish it will not really grow coral.

Thank u for the info I have had it on my fresh tank for quite some time but just getting in to the saltwater side of thangs and all I have for it right now is a 50/50 in a petco fixture I had laying around we all know the one lol just wondering if the swop would be better
