SALTY
I have a 30x30x18 70 gallon cube I will be setting up do you think using 2x2 lumber with 3/4" sheeting will be strong enough to hold the tank and everything that goes in it. Thanks for your help.
The ReefBox
Salty, I think it could be strong enough but I would use minimum 1/2" but preferably 3/4" sanded plywood to sheet. This will provide the shear strength you need and will help with deflection you will get with 2x2 construction. Hope this helps
Fisher15
Use 3/4" plywood and you don't need a frame at all.
The ReefBox
Use 3/4" plywood and you don't need a frame at all. while that by itself would be strong enough,,, I like to er on the side of caution and have an internal infrastructure in case of failure. Meaning if the stand gets saturated with salt water (which it will likely at some point) then there is a secondary frame in place.
