I have a question on building a stand

Use 3/4" plywood and you don't need a frame at all.

while that by itself would be strong enough,,, I like to er on the side of caution and have an internal infrastructure in case of failure. Meaning if the stand gets saturated with salt water (which it will likely at some point) then there is a secondary frame in place. Just my .02

I have a 30x30x18 70 gallon cube  I will be setting up do you think using 2x2 lumber with 3/4" sheeting will be strong enough to hold the tank and everything that goes in it.

Thanks for your help.

Off topic but mind if I ask where did you get your tank, I'm looking for that shape myself!
