Scottb
I am 5 days overdue for a water change. I bought a spectrapure RO unit that should be here tomorrow. I am on a well and my water is pretty good. Should I wait until Thursday to do my water change or do it today?
Higher Thinking
Without knowing anything about your setup, I'd definitely lean towards things being ok without a water change. The issue would be if you have a bunch of coral and don't dose any trace supplements. Even then, I'm sure the system could maintain for a while. I'd be leery of hard metals in the well water. If you really don't want to wait, I'd just head to TPA and buy some RO water. Edited December 8, 2015 by Higher Thinking
Paratore
I agree with higher thinking, you'll be fine with no water change. In my opinion they are really good for a system but not needed every 2 weeks or every month on the dot. I don't remember the last time I did a water change and my stuff looks great! Granted I was try to starve out some algae and it worked so I'll probably do a good water change soon. But back to my point, your tank will be just fine waiting. I'm also on a well and would never use the water because my TDS meter reads 170 ppm on the incoming water...... RO/DI water should be 0. danlu_gt
I haven't done real water change since Feb. Water change I do now is when I add new corals/fish or sell some frags. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
