spectra
Starting to look good! This is the part I hate as I can never seem to like my rock work
reefnjunkie
looks good but...... there are tons of threads on aquascaping, I like the idea of one side being higher, maybe take rock from one side and build upward. Google aquaspaing reef tank and negative space-lots of ideas-and yes I hate this part as well- Starting to come together, conngrats
The ReefBox
One thing I am trying to avoid is building rock to high and have my sps growing out of water again.. Brad, gotta love the but.......
Dragon
Don't listen to Brad, he's just jealous your aquascape has more rock than his... Just kidding Brad, your tank is looking awesome! Aquascaping is one of my favorite parts of the hobby. Im surprised others dislike it so much. I think your do-over is looking awesome. Lots of unique sections with caves, shelves and overhangs. Look forward to seeing it once the water clears up and you get your lights up.
Bevo5
Yeah man - definitely option 2. Feels more open and has more interesting features. Plus I always like to have lots of things for fish to swim in and around.
reefnjunkie
I agree but....... Grab a beer do some reading there is no right way or wrong way it's what you like that matters, I just liked the photography side of explaining the "why" hence my "but" http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2217633 And once you get your rock work, check out complimentary colors, something to consider when placing corals https://mrwayrynenphoto.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/colour-wheel-complementary-colours-desktop-resolution.gif Hey I have honest feedback, (IMO) but don't you love the posts where people say what you want to hear
Blackice
#2 is going to look really good with the coral grown out I also keep the rock on the bottom half of the tank to leave room for the stags to grow big and tall to fill the background. spectra
Read the thread Brad posted. Some good stuff there. I think that is why I do not like cubes anymore as people just toss a bunch of rock in the middle and call it good......I like islands and ways the fish can move around. Caves or overhangs are always nice to see also. Seems like there are so many ways you can go.
The ReefBox
Yeah I read the same one on reef2reef. As most of you know I don't conform!!!!! I do appreciate all of the feedback and will take suggestions and see what I can come up with. Prob won't be many stags in this tank. Maybe a Bali green slimmer and battlestag but not much more
