Trenton Henderson
I'm planning on getting an Innovative Marine NUVO Fusion 20. I already have a Kessel for it, and I am getting the new Vortech MP10QD. I am planning on getting SPS, and I wasn't sure if I need to dose supplements in that small of a tank. If I did bimonthly water changes, would that be enough to replace the calcium, magnesium, and other important elements? If I would need to dose, what would be the easiest and most effective way to do it? Thanks, Trenton
PowderBlue
It's all going to depend on how quickly your coral soaks up the calcium, etc. Likely if it's full of sps you will need to dose. I have a 10 gallon fusion and even with water changes every 2 weeks my calcium dipped low pretty quickly. Trenton Henderson
Do you hand dose? If so, what do you dose?
Bicyclebill
I've got one at work. Even with minimal sps, you're best bet is dosing because otherwise you'll never maintain a consistent enough alkalinity to keep things happy. BRS 2 part is economical, and Jebao dosing pump quite affordable.
PowderBlue
I dose Kalk through my ATO to keep calcium up now and that works well. I've also got a nuvo Fusion 20 for sale haha. I've got one other guy interested but if you're interested let me know Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk
czreef
I have a Fusion 20 too, it's loaded with SPS and some LPS. I do 2 gallon water changes twice a week and still need to dose 2-part daily, I dose Acropower every 4 days. I have good, consistent growth in my system. The Jebao dosing pump is a great deal and has worked well for me. Make sure you set up an ATO as well. They're fun little tanks, good luck with your build!
