ReefNoobie
I am looking to buy some good rock that is covered in coralline algae. I would like to give the coralline a good started to boost growth. If anybody has any I can buy from them I would greatly appreciate it. Or if you have any suggestions on how to start it without the rock, chime in. I would love to hear any input. I have read about Purple-Up but have heard alot of mixed reviews. My alk, mag, and cal is at optimum levels and I do weekly water changes to keep this in check. I will be dosing kalk to maintain these levels soon, but too many parameters are going to change throughout introduction of livestock. Once it is stocked I will start dosing kalk. Not looking for a lot of rock, just some to seed the growth. 65g DT with 10+g sump and in a few weeks will be adding my new 38g refugium as well. temp 80-81 PH 8.2-8.3 Alk 9-11 dkh mag 1200-1300 calc 420-460 (ranges from PWC) Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 5-20 (levels leveling out over time) Thanks for any input or recommendation! reefnjunkie
IMO I would just start with new unseeded rock only for the fact I wouldn't want to take a chance of introducing unwanted pests but that's just my opinion and you asked for recommendations
ReefNoobie
Ya I have a lot of unseeded rock in already, and some seeded rock as well. I do appreciate the heads up on that, I will QT it before introducing to main tank tho, I have heard too many horror stories not to. :-) Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
