Trenton Henderson
I'm planning on putting together a nano reef tank of 10 gallons. I have everything down but flow. How much flow will I need on the tank and what should I use? There will be acropora and other hard corals as well as soft corals such as a few zoas. Thanks, Trenton
LadySaber
I have a 10 going right now and I have a koralia nano 425 blowing from the left side of the tank facing the opposite side. Its seems to be go flow..
Trenton Henderson
But would I need two is the question?
Mandinga
My 3.5g pico has an mp10...I was skeptical at first, but I can run it on reef crest at about 30%...tough to beat an ecotech for small spaces...where cords are nasty business, and space is at a premium. Trenton Henderson
I thought about one, but I don't want this to become hugely expensive. I'm already buying a Kessil 160. I was looking at those nano koralias; I have the wave maker already. If I were to do the smallest ones, how many would do? Two, three? Jack-the-reefer
Is that going to be your only source of flow? When I had my 10 set up, I had an aquaclear 70, and a koralia nano 425. It was pretty perfect. If you have no other flow, two is probably a good bet though.
andy
Check out the Tunze Nanostream 6040. It's small, controllable and (relatively) affordable. Plus, it's Tunze. I don't have one yet, but plan on adding one to my 10gal soon.
Sasquatch
I have a Nuvo 8 and got an Eheim 600.. $25 It's adjustable and at the highest setting its 125 gph I think.. But my zoas are fine with the lowest setting cause that's what my fish like.. Very low flow. Sps may want more You could go with a maxi jet 900 I think it is.. Plenty of flow there but no adjusting

Trenton Henderson
Nice! I might eventually add a refugium.
