timmylucas
Is this a good one to use on my aquarium?? http://www.amazon.com/Aquatic-Life-Reverse-Osmosis-50-Gallon/dp/B00DOG63OY/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1410759452&sr=1-1&keywords=Ro+unit I have the coralife Pure Flo but the replacement membrane and filters are almost as much as a brand new unit so I decided maybe I should try a different unit. I'm assuming a member on here has to of used this one at one point
Arsonmfg
I have one of these little 100gpd guys and it works great, make sure you add the DI to it though!
Blue Z Reef
How long have you used your current one? Membranes don't go bad very fast. Also, filters don't have to be name brand, most are pretty cheap on eBay. A full filter swap should only be like 40-60 for 1 sed, 2x carbon blocks, and DI resin. timmylucas
I haven't even had my unit for a year yet. But the filters are turning brown. And it seems like everytime I add water from it for my top off I get a brown algae outbreak. So I'm not sure if I should replace the membranes and the filters or just get a new unit
Blue Z Reef
A lot is going to depend on the tap water, but good rule of thumb is new filters every six months. I always just do my DI at the same time. I've had the same membrane for years lol...probably overdue but works fine for now. Tds meters are like $15 which can help you monitor when it's time to swap your filters out. My pre filters don't turn brown at all so I'd say you def need some new ones! Blue Z Reef
A simple replacement kit like this should get you going again: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=231318089232
