Jeramy Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 (flame) So before I bought my clown goby I looked into the reef safe compatability of them and did find that would in attempts at breeding lay their eggs on acroporas or other sps which can be can cause some tissue loss. How ever no where did I ever read that they will feed on the feeder tenticals of LPS!!!!! I have a small yellow clown gobby who has killed my babies breath favia and almost wiped out one of my favorite purple acans!!!! Who knew that these cool little fish could be such a(censored) Has any one else had this problem? Or is mine just special!!!! (flame)
Gill Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Bummer, I haven't heard of this before. Are you feeding him cyclop ezee??? I do know that they can be hard to feed.
Jeramy Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 oh yeah I feed a blend of home made sea foods I also feed rods and I feed cyclop and he eats em all I have seen the little bugger grab chunks of shrimp bigger then his head and chomp em down.

Sounds like you might just have a trouble maker on your hands. LOL
Emerald525 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Yes I got a clown goby for free from someone because it was causing damage to his sps. It was fine in my zoa dominated frag tank. They can also cause damage by sitting on the sps. They are easy to catch though. Get a siphon and suck him right into a bucket. No harm and not much stress to the fish either. Sent from my BlackBerry 9630 using Tapatalk
Jeramy Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 Hey wont be making the move to my new tank so if any one is interested let me know ugg!
Jeramy Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 The condemed has been exonerated! I found the answer to my problem with the yellow clown goby. He is a she and she is laying eggs. Which explains the nipping of the corals she is trying to clear the path to lay her eggs. I actually wittnessed it happening was really cool to watch. SO I here by revoke her life sentance to the sump and change her name from Tom to Kit (any one who has read dragon lance will know who that is and yes I am a geek and proud of it =)
Garrett Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Nice jeramy, proud new father of clown goby eggs haha. If only you could breed them and fund your new build
