nelsz3
I moved my rock over from my 75 to a 40b and noticed three conical snail/worm attached to the rock one rock with three of them fairly close together, have not noticed any more. I just would like to know what they are and if they are ok to be in a reef tank tHANKS
matty
They look like vermetid snails. I have them, they don't hurt anything directly they just cast an annoying web that will irritate corals. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-01/rs/index.php
Islandoftiki
I would say vermetid snails, too. All of the ones I have a really small, but they can get annoying... especially when handling live rock, they're kinda sharp. I don't really like them, but I don't go out of my way to smash them or anything. Sometimes I scrape them off if they're in an annoying spot. nelsz3
so upon further research I have decided to remove them there is some research that suggest there mucus net can reduce the density of coral skeletons in the long term so unless some one wants them I will be removing then tonight
