dsoz
So sad. They are beautiful. Not that I would want one to show up in my display, but a mantis tank... You are getting me interested. PS How is the apstasia/mojano idea coming along?
biomekanic
Slowly on the mojano thing. I've got a full 5g bucket of leftover LR from the guy I bought off of. cured and all, so when I get my hands on some free time to setup a tank at work, I'll be ready to go with it. Since it's a 'pest' tank, I want to make sure I have the nicest looking pests I can find. It's a shame that mojano's are so prolific and have such strong nematocysts. If you ever decide to setup a mantis tank, I can point you to some good resources. I bet the kids in your class would love having one in there. impur
Both raptors and an eye?!?!?! Did you order a partial mantis or a full one? Thats just plain messed up. Its not like it lost that stuff in shipping, they picked it by hand.
biomekanic
Yeah, this morning all I found was a shell. I don't know if he ( and he's a he, based on the pics Dr Roy posted on the RC thread ) is molting or died. I'm leaning towards died, as the shell was in the same spot. But maybe I'm wrong. :: crosses fingers :: The Seio I put in to add some current wound up slipping and pointed at the sand. Guess who came out of his burrow in protest? So, what condition is your Squilla now after the molt? Still a partial mantis?
biomekanic
Not sure, the usual regrowth time is 3-4 molts for the raptors, the eye is a loss - they're too complex to regrow. My wife let me know he's been out a few times, and on his back. Not a good sign, he should be holed up and hunkered down.

biomekanic
a 5 or 7 gallon nano at my work, simple Aqua clear filter, and some mojanos for color. I don't want anything valuable on the desk. Flirting with the idea of an n. wennerae mantis for it.
