sharoleb
To sum it up - my mp40 was not in the right place and moved a ton of sand. It's probably almost 6 inches in the corner, down to an inch or two in the middle. Aside from it looking ridiculous, and uncovering a mass hermit crab graveyard, I'm concerned it's just not good for the tank. Also - this has happened over the last few weeks, so it's been there for a bit. What do I do with this massive pile of sand in the corner? Push a little over at a time? Leave it there, even though it looks dumb? Add a little sand in the middle to even out the gap?
TRENT
I would just move it back. What ever "bad bacteria" has already been disturbed. So if any damage it's already done. My MP 40’s do the same. When I do a water change I move it back. No problems so far. You should be fine.

Bicyclebill
I've got a couple of strategically placed handfuls of crushed coral to keep the rest of my sand bed on the bottom.
