pcsdlszr
Ok, so we were moving things from our 120 into the stock tank last night.... or this morning.... (scratch) anyway. We found this on one of the rocks that were in the back of the tank. Anyone have any idea as to what it might be? The brownish part under it is actually it's body and it stands off the rock about and inch to inch and a half off the rock. It's kinda cool looking. dsoz
If the arms are clear colored with a little white dot at the end, they are like mine (see post "is this mojano") I think I determined that what I have are called strawberry anemones. I don't remember the scientific name. Oh let me go find my post.... Here it is. They are called corynactis, or maybe pseudocorynactis Look here for what was said about mine. Then search coryactis. Compare pictures. http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?p=36119#post36119 If you really want mojano, I found a "dealer" that will sell you LR with them on it. Biomekanic is interested, the nice small rock with about 15 of them. It will go soon, if you don't respond quickly... (I should have been a high pressure salesman ) The "good" thing about them is that they grow and divide quickly. If it apstasia that you want, I can get you them for a low price. Free for any that can be scraped off the glass/plastic of the display tank. But this is a limited time offer. Call now at 1-800-I-M-STPID if you want in on this deal. (ya, my true talents are wasted on teenagers) Hope all goes well. dsoz

cyenna
That's an interesting find. Is it soft to the touch? Does it shy away from light? Does it retract? Is there a mouth? Does it move? I'm curious now...
Nyles
I have some of those in both my tanks, I have left them be since they seem to not harm anything, anyone have more info?
pcsdlszr
It doesn't seem to have tentacles and it doesn't move around. It did shrink up when we touched it to take the rock out of the water (creepy feeling). It is really cool looking though and doesn't seem to be bugging anything else. Oh and we don't really want any majano thanks. But we know where we could get some if we did.

What exactly do you do? I've posted this before... "Here are my credentials- I have an associates degree in Chemistry Technology from Clark Community College that allowed me to work as a chemistry technician (at a Chlor-Alkali plant in Portland) while I finished College at the University of Portland. I graduated with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. I worked as a QC chemist for a year before I worked as a formulations chemist for the next eight years. Since 2000, I progressively became more involved in IT, which I'm now doing full time for a large chemical distributor."
