A lot of the cash I had set aside for the new build had to be used on some other things so I think the CW build might not get going till this fall. AquaticEngineer Posted August 3, 2011 Share Posted August 3, 2011 I'm lighting my tank with 3 Par38 12w LED bulbs with 30 degree optics, I dont want light to even touch the front or sides of the tank. Those bulbs run from $40 - $65, if you have the patience for Ebay you can get em closer to $40, if you need em now you can buy em out right shipped for $65. I think I'd need at least six for my tank All depends on the look you want I am going for maximum light pentration with the 30 degree optics, but you could always go with a wider angle for better spread.
