Kimberlee
Ok, so I didn't think it looked so bad when the water went in. I just thought I was getting fish to. Now I have all these colorful corals in my tank, and that blue is just tacky. Is there any way or thing to remove that paint and maybe repaint w/ something els, or am I stuck until I break down the tank?
stylaster
ok im assuming this is a glass tank and it was painted on the back side, i would use a razor blade and scrape the paint off
Kimberlee
Thank you stylaster. Now what about re painting, even an option?
stylaster
sure, just cover the top of the tank and make sure you have fans going to blow fumes away. Also turn off your skimmer when painting, once done give it 24 hours to dry, turn skimmer back on and to be safe add some carbon and run that for a week

stylaster
only cover the tank when painting, just dont run the skimmer when painting and for 24 hours after, you dont want to suck up paint fumes and inject them into your water, which the skimmer will do really well! impur
Or once you get the old paint off just use window tint. Easier, cleaner, cheaper
Kimberlee
That is a truly great idea, impur. Less work. Oh and thx stylaster. I was willing to go through that to get rid of the blue and not have to look at the wall behind it either. It's good to know how to do it right
