Longiotti
I use disposable gloves that food handlers use. get about 700 of them for $5. split them with 5 friends. get over 100 gloves for a buck.

Michael7979
You should wear them if you are handling zoas, or if you have a cut on your hand, or both. Just ask Roger (Mr S).
moovinfast
It was my carpet anemone. Maybe Ill look for the food handler ones. Where can you find the powder free ones?
Michael7979
I believe I have seen them at Lowes or HD. Are if you have a rest. supply store near you go there. In Salem we have a United Grocers that sells in bulk to rest. and the public.

rubberduck9
Hmm Thats so weird how some people are efected so diff by stings and zoas/palys. I get stung by my carpet all the time. doesnt hurt or make any welts, just sticks to me for a few. lol But zoas and palys on the other hand make me break out and itchy. Longiotti
I have never been stung at all. my brother got stung by a hammer. I wear them because I have noticed that when I frag and work it my tank the corals do not get hurt. I work on cars every so often also. So for me it is to keep my tank and coral clean. try and keep the oils and other things off the corals when I touch them. I know people say wash your hands. I do but when you work on cars it is hard to get it all out of your finger nails and everything.
moovinfast
It didn't normally bother me. But it attached itself to my hand for a while, while I tried to move it. I tickled its foot until it let go of the bottom. There wasn't a way for me to do it without it getting my hand.
Harold B
I don't usally use gloves unless I plan on handling a bunch of seasoned live rock so I do keep a box of rubber gloves around but they usally rip. The sharp edges on liverock added with all the bacteria most of the time leads to a swollen finger or two. I have heard and seen the results of Zoa fragging without gloves though, so i'd reommend that for sure.
pnkrcklives
I wear gloves most of the time while working on the tank. Mostly because I am an Auto mechanic by trade, and figure it is not good when you can see oil coming off my hands. Even after washing them. I almost always have open cuts on my hands as well. I have touched some corals though with bare hands and have never been stung.
