darrellw
I've noticed a couple of aipista popping up in my tank (after nearly two years, and not having added anything in 6 months). I'd like to try a peppermint shrimp, but will my banded coral shrimp cause any problems? Who might have peppermint shrimp?
ReefSafari
I've heard peppermints can be with cleaners, I have done that, but I have always heard Coral bandeds don't care for other shrimp...but I can't speak from experience...so...take it with a grain of salt... Taken from Live Aquaria... Though the Banded Coral Shrimp can be aggressive towards other Banded Coral Shrimp and smaller shrimp of different species, most are peaceful towards fish, corals, and invertebrates within your aquarium. snowpunk
the way you could have better luck is if the coral banded is smaller then the other shrimp. This won't be a fail safe but you'll have a better chance. Coral banded just like their space from other shrimp....lol
darrellw
Thanks, everyone. Looks like I should find a new home for him first.
andy
Yup, Coral Banded aren't even shrimp, they're closer to lobster and are predators of shrimp. Nasty little buggers, if they get large enough they'll go after fish.

tigerv503
Yes they are ok with each other, shouldn't be a problem. Vin B.O.M "Blue Ocean Marines Inc."
gawf4fun
I had a healthy infestation of aiptasia in my 180 about three months ago, so I put three PS in with my fairly big coral banded I've had for 3+ years. The peppermints keep their distance and hide for the most part, but they persevere and i see them every couple days or so emerging from my rock work. I think sufficient space is the key for compatibility. Good luck
