mwheeler
Anybody know of a good light for a 24 gallon Aqua Pod that wont cost me an arm and a leg? I think the dimensions are 19.75L x 13W x 17.5H Inches that's without the factory hood on. I would like to be able to mount the lite on the tank if at all possible. reefnjunkie
What are you wanting MH or T5?
mwheeler
Haven't decided yet. Pretty much what ever I can get a good deal on that has good enough wattage to grow zoa's and LPS I have one SPS but I can put that at the top of the tank. jgf86123
www.aquatraders.com they've got a 150w pendant with 2 T5 actinics for 99 bucks with free shipping, can't beat that witha stick. Although, I do have a 175w retro kit I'll sell ya for 75 bucks :P

jgf86123
well [language filter], how about topdogsellers on ebay?
reefnjunkie
I'm looking at getting the sme light Mick talked about once it comes back into stock from a fellow fleabay seller. I asked about the light you are wanting since if the MH works out, I will sell my 24" 4 bulb 24 watt T% with moonlight fixture. Built in timer to run each set of T5' and another to run the moon lights. I wont know for at least 2 weeks though, regardless if the MH works out-I'm posting up the fixture I have with the 4 new extra bulbs I have-most likely 75.00 or so- I had a 24 gallon Aqua pod that I had a MH on but it ran to hot and I had to add a chiller-maybe if it was hung higher??? mwheeler
If that one wasn't out of stock I would probably give it a try. I am thinking about down grading and taking most of the coral out of my 46 gallon and putting it in there. Its only a fiew zoa's a frogspawn a birds nest and a SPS of some sort. Not to much for a 24 gallon since most of my zoa's are still on plugs or small rubble rock.

kendaroo
LOL... it wasn't me, it was the baby! He also renamed everything on the computer desktop and hid the dock! He's a menace... LOL. But I wouldn't describe him so much as a tranquilizer gun as a stun gun.

mwheeler
What do you guys think about this one? For zoa's a seabay anemone and a frogspawn. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-Aqualight-10K-Actinic-96W-Nano-Light-Coralife-20-/290443086643?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item439fc1cb33
jgf86123
T5's are soooooo much better. Look an see if you can't find a current usa T5HO fixture, but remember, on any T5 fixture, make sure it's got individual reflectors.
mwheeler
The problem with them is I can only find 18" or 24" fixtures no 20"
jgf86123
you actually should be able to make an 18" fixture work, it might take some finaglin, but, it should be able to be made to work out perfectly. The legs can be turned around to fit on a narrower tank, or even a longer tank :P
mwheeler
I think I will just wait a little bit and see if the Odyssea Metal Halide Pendant 150W with T5 at aqua traders gets back into stock. It has adjustable legs so it will fit the tank good.
jgf86123
Don't forget to check out topdogsellers on ebay, and check with the local stores as well, our sponsors may have something used sitting around that would work for you too.
mwheeler
Yea I might have to make a Portland run and do the loop there to see if I can find anything.
jgf86123
Definitely swing through Nick's place, Davy Jones, Seahorse, Isaac's place, Westside and I think, if you can get in touch with em, Soutas, they're pretty much goin internet only, and are gettin rid of all of their equipment they had for sale, they might still have some stuff left. Also, since you are in Longview, check out nwcoralfarm, aka Dave, he's got some stuff and can get stuff in as well, and he'll treat you right. moovinfast
Ill sell you my LED light thats over my 20" cube . I was going to also suggest Nick at rose city. He usually has used 175w MH ballasts
undrtkr_00
Yeah, check out other options first. I would not put any anemone under PC's. I would not buy a new PC fixture in any case.
mwheeler
Would love that light but don't have the $$$ for something that nice. Ill sell you my LED light thats over my 20" cube .
