rmhuntley
does anyone know where to get 12-20hour heating packs locally? I"m shipping some coral across the country and don't want to risk it getting too cold overnight. Thanks Roy

Michael7979
Joel had some at one time. I bet any LFS that ships out live stock will have them or tell you where they can be found.

vanz
I always wondered...do you tape the heatpack to the outside or the inside of the styro container?
impur
Walmart has them all the way up to 36hrs. I wrap the heatpack in newspaper and put it at the bottom of the shipping box.
SeanF
I have 60 hour heat packs that would run $2.25 each.
Nyles
Keep in mind one thing. Heatpacks require oxygen to create heat. By limiting oxygen to them they will last longer than a warmer in your pocket. I would recommend testing your package by packing somw water and leave out overnight. If in doubt get the longer run time ones.
Piero
lol, Nyles beat me to it. when I was shipping I would tape the heat pack to the inside of the top styro piece. I worried about too much heat transfer from the bottom up. I also notice when i got boxes from importers they did the same. on a side note...can you imagine the amount of plastic and styro our industry is responsible for contributing towards landfills? ugh.
