Kevman
I started moving acouple things to my new tank and I noticed little shrimp looking guys maybe a quarter of an inch long start darting out from under the frag plugs I had sitting on rocks...I mean they have a tail like a shrimp!! Kinda like Mycis but I have never introduced Mycis to that tank.... I now know its good food, but am unsure of what exactlly they are..\ I wish I could send pics but they wont comeout good with my Cell phone camera... Does anyone have any idea what they could be... ? stylaster
probably is mysis they will come in with live rock, on corals, in sand if you got it from a buddies tank.
Nyles
I used to feed feeder shrimp and artemia. I noticed they stay around for years till the wrasses get them when they get larger. You probably fed artemia or got them as hitchhikers, either way good find.
Kevman
Are they safe... I mean will they harm anything i.e. Coral, LPS, SPS?
Nyles
Should be safe, depends on what they are, if its shrimp you should be fine. I take a flashlight at night and I can see there eyes glowing all over in the live rock while the fish sleep. When I fed phyto (weekly for a year and a half) their numbers increased, but when I purchased a few wrasses they all but disappeared. If you run a remote refugium they will do well in there to, its a great second food for fish.
