moovinfast
So I've been thinking about upgrading my lights on my 72 gallon. Has 4x54w T5s on it right now. Was thinking about switching to Two 250w Metal Halides. I found this "Click Here" . I can get two of them (electronic ballast, Reflector, Power cord) for under $200 shipped. Seems inexpensive. What am I missing?
R-3
A bulb. Doesnt seem that like bad of a deal. Is there anyone on the forums with a used 250 setup?
reef165
I have a 250 watt PFO ballast with a DIY lumaric reflector and 4 bulbs, 2 of the bulbs are 10k and used 9 monthes and the other 2 are 20k, one of the 20k is brand new the other is 3 monthes old.http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15608 The asking price is down to $80. Or, I havent posted it yet but I do have a duel 400 watt HQI, PFO ballast with SE mogle sockets and some parabolic reflectors so all ya would need is the Radiums, I'd let that go for $130. reef165
Oh and if those T-5's are retro, with waterproof end caps, good reflectors and decent bulbs, I would consider a trade.

moovinfast
I'm trying to go with a matching pair of ballasts or maybe a dual. Prefer an electronic ballast and I think dual 400Ws would just cook everything. But we will see what I actually end up with.
nwcoralfarm
It seems that you would be missing the bulbs, wires, and if I remember right a canopy to put them in. I have a 175 dual setup that would be enough for your tank. That is a decent deal though for what it is.
