jason7504
i was thinking about selling my tunze 6045 and K1 and going with a controllable K4..it would be 41x instead of 58 in terms of flow and there would only be one pump..thats more than enough flow even for SPS too..do you think that sounds like a good idea? Rick
With the size and shape of your tank I think I would stick to a couple of pumps with less flow on each one rather than one big one.
CCR
I like controllable. But with 2 it is a lot more random so instead of a tree at the coast getting wind from only one direction,,,, and it is stripped of branches. the flow would be from all directions JMO
jason7504
how about 2 controllable K2s?
Rick
Sounds better. Not such a big blast and you can cover most dead spots with 2.
jason7504
thats true and i can use them with my reefkeeper lite
kilmca
The 6045 is controllable, can you not control that with your reefkeeper lite? I'm only familar with the Tunze controllers but I assumed you could use other controllers with the pump?
jason7504
no the 6045 isn't controllable..the controllable tunze pumps are like 300-500 the 6045 isn't made to turn off and on so many times and so quickly
kilmca
I thought the 6045 and 6055 were both controllable but only the 6055 are. I think the idea of 2 smaller pumps is the way to go, more flow possibilities.
jason7504
no i wish it was
tidalsculpin
The mj mods would be controllable as well. They may be cheaper than to koralia 2's controlled. The koralia 2 looks nicer but that is just personal preference I guess. Of course you could go with a vortech mp10 and have a controllable wavemaker for 195 bucks.
