wobble
Can someone tell me what this is? I first noticed it about a month ago. Sorry about the poor quality pics. To give an idea of size, it's directly to the left of the yellow tang.
chewie
Aiptasia. If it's the only one and you can get the rock out, chisel it off and sacrifice the rubble and the Aiptasia to the reef gods. If not, Peppermint shrimp are your friend.
wobble
That's what I suspected. I'll get it the rock out right now and chisel it off. Thanks once again chewie.
Michael7979
Looks like an aptasia anemone. Pest. They can multiply qickly into a plague. Use Aptasia X, Joes Juice, or something similar to kill it. Google it to make sure as the picture isn't the best but I am 95% sure.
wobble
I googled it. Yep. That's exactly what it looks like. It's gone now along with a chunk of that rock. Hopefully there aren't any more. I'll keep an eye out. How did he get in there? I haven't added any LR for years.
Rick
I used a peppermint shrimp to take care of mine. Unfortunately not all species that are called peppermint shrimp will go after them though and therefore there are mixed results.
wobble
I've heard peppermint shrimp work, but I don't think they would last long in my tank. Look at the last pic I posted. Directly behind the clown and you'll see my eel's head poking out. His favorite food is raw shrimp. (laugh) Hopefully I won't see any more, but I have a feeling I will. Hopefully it was just a rogue one.
