  3. So tank has been up since February. 140 gal display with 75g sump. Keep temp at 78° and salinity at 1.025 tropic marin pro reef. Dosing brs 2 part parameters in pic below. Tank is mostly lps. I have one piece of SPS thriving but other than that no luck yet with sps my guess isndue to stability with a few outbreaks I've had with dino and now cyano. Livestock and inverts are all healthy. Nem is fed directly every other day. Lighting is 1 g4 radion xr30 pro in the center and 2 g5 xr15 pro- one on each side of the xr 30.

The anemone had split about 1/4-1/3 of the way across from one side and the foot visibly had become 2.

  4. Hey so I guess the tapatalk app stopped working no wonder I stopped getting notifications lol. Anyway I got a rainbow bta couple months ago and he was happy and puffy till a little over a month ago. It looked like he was starting to split and then never finished the split. Ever since then he has started to lose color and doesn't puff up any more / bubble. Dose this sound like a lighting problem? To much par maybe?

  5. Yes, they are located in Portland. I probably wouldn't want to ship because of risk of damage. I suppose we could consider it though. You'd have to pay shipping.

I totally understand I just wanted to make sure before I considered Other options. I sure would hate to shell out 550 bucks with something the Post Office breaks

  6. So an update to anyone interested... Wesson the trigger, finished his molley qt after having to keep the molleys in a makeshift acclimation box, and has been living peacefully in my reef. Only terror has been when he literally swam into my wife's hand as she was picking up a frag and sat there while she froze in fear[emoji23][emoji1787][emoji23]. Finally a fish who isn't afraid to hang out in the front of the tank all day.

  7. Kinda what I was expecting. Maybe he has it out for molleys. He don't bother the wrasse he's in with. Just worried about the clowns and the royal gramma in the display once he moves

  8. So I lost my first blue jaw trigger in copper qt. Heartbroken I recently wanted to try again and since I was getting a wrasse too, I decided to try black molley qt. I was under the impression that bule throats were reef safebwith caution but this jerk has killed 4 molleys now. Now i have the molleys separated in a basket so he can't get to them but I have doubts to the reef safeness of blue jaw triggers. Has anyone else witnessed murderous carnage by a blue jaw or did I get the jeff dhalmer of triggers?

  10. Back when my tank had zero phosphate, I dosed Spectracide stump remover mixed with RO water.  Due to its chemical makeup, you can accurately dose based on water volume to increase PO4 to a specific ppm value.  I lost the link to an online calculator, but if you Google it you might be able to find the formula.  Spectracide is available at Home Depot or other stores with a garden center.
What about nitrates? I have read about the stump remover, does it not have any harmful additives?

  11. So 2 weeks ago my chaeto doubled in size over one week. After that I trimmed it and it stopped growing and started dying. I then noticed dinos appearing everywhere so I tested nitrate and phosphate and had 0.00 across the board. So I know I need to get my numbers up. I am over feeding which is the best solution I can think of in the mean time in addition to blacking out the tank for 3 days. Whats a good long term solution to get my numbers up a bit and attack this dino. Something to manually dose?

  12. I just bought a bucket to try since at the time I couldn't get tropic marin pro. I hate this salt. Leaves my bin filthy, takes forever to mix if it does at all, and my magnesium is off the charts. Just used the last of it and glad I'm back to tropic marin. Good luck
