For the record, I love Berghia for controlling Aptasia.  I've done this multiple times, don't worry about them starving.  It's about you eliminating aptasia from your system.

I can understand that perspective, but personally I just have a hard time putting something in a tank knowing it’ll starve to death soon.

  2. I have a small Fluval 13.5g with a couple aptasia in it.

This seems like a nice solution, but I worry about them starving out after they’ve done their job. Do you know how many a couple could eat in a day? Will the eat through everything in a small tank pretty fast and then starve out?

I’m in Eugene, so this seems promising as a solution for me.

  3. I’ll start by apologizing if this is posted in the wrong spot.

Then follow it with another apology as I can not get a good picture of what I’m seeing.

I don’t run mech filtration on my tank so I’m used to the “marine snow” stuff flying everywhere and it doesn’t bother me. Lately though I’ve noticed an explosion of little white dots on the glass and sandbed. Not a big deal but they also seem to gather on the top of my Pink Caddilac frag. I blew them off, next day there they are again.

Then I notice they are moving around not just being blown around. So I suck up a little water and put it on a dish for a closer look. I only have my little handheld scope I use for my grows. Works in a pinch but not good for pictures. I tried to use it in conjunction with my phone to get a good pic but no luck.

So I will attempt to describe them. Under the scope, they look like little clear clams/bivalves. A shell on each side, no eyes or anything. The weird thing is they have several little spider-leg like appendages coming out an opening down their middle.

I know what copepods, amphipods, isopods, limpets, flatworms, nudis, etc, look like but I’ve never seen these. I’ve been looking online for several hours for anything similar. Even looking at larval stages of any inverts I have in the tank.

I know now it’s almost impossible to get an ID without a decent picture but I figured it was worth a shot.

    Any clues y’all?

    Bad pics:

  4. I wanted to thank everyone and there interests and apologies for neglecting to respond.

Life caught up with me and I’ve left this hobby on the back burner for a few weeks. My tank suffered and is on a slow recovery and I don’t want to sell anything out of it until it bounces back.

If anyone cold close or lock this thread, if possible I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks again everyone.

I’m interested in a BTA a smaller one.

The smallest one I have is like 3-4” oral disc. When I get my nem box, should be soon, I’ll try and take them off the rock and then have better pics of them and their size.

I’ll keep you in mind when I list them.

  6. Tank is doing well. Had to set up me Evo and move some things to it to make room. I want to turn this C-Vue into a sps dom tank. Also need to do something about my bta’s. My one large one split into three and two of those look like they’ll be splitting again soon.

Order a cheap breeding box and plan on trying to coax the nems off the rock and isolate them in the box. Will sell them off or trade for other corals.

As always tank threads are better with pictures so here the tank is as of today.

Throw it up on reef central.

“Amazing Aqua Thunder Hammer, EXTREMELY Rare!!!” $495.00 with free shipping!

It seems like half a corals price is in the name, and the other half is how hard it is to find. So you might be on to something there.🤣
