  1. I would look into the tank transfer method (TTM). It only works on ich but you can use prazipro at the same time for flukes and other parasites. Obviously if your current DT had an ich outbreak you'd have to go fallow for 72+ days before you were 100% ich free. TTM sounds daunting at first but it's fairly easy.

  2. I ordered a CUC from reef cleaners.org and they are doing a great job! When the Florida Ceriths went in we didn't notice that they had anything on them. Now most of them have 2 or 3 oysters on their shells. A few no longer look like snails. They look like mobile oyster farms. I am guessing that since they are doing so well it's a good sign, but knowing the kind of waters oysters grow in this doesn't mean much.

So, my question is, I'm not going to end up with oysters all over my tank am I? (Other than on the snail shells that is.)

This guy has two on him.

  3. Thanks for the compliments! I was pretty surprised how it turned out since all I had was a big box of rocks that I didn't get to choose. [emoji1]

  4. Just wanted to say hello. I live in Salem and have a 55 gallon reef tank in the works.  Our tank has been up and going since November. The current occupants are a blue damsel, wall hammer, phantom clown pair, and various CUC. I used about 75 or 80 pounds of Reed Saver dry rock and 45 pounds of crushed coral for the aquascape. Hardware consists of a drilled 55 gallon tank, 20L sump, BM Curve 5 skimmer, DCT-4000 return pump, 38W UV sterilizer, two RW-4 power heads, and a 48" 4 bulb T5HO with 2 ATI Coral + and 2 ATI blue + bulbs. Looking to get some more corals soon.  Most of the green stuff on the rocks is gone now that the Florida ceriths attacked it.

  5. I have two RW-4 power heads in my 55 gallon tank.  They are pretty small (i was surprised when I opened the box) and with them turned all the way up they can really blow stuff around in the tank.  The wireless master/slave feature is really nice too.  I got mine from ConstantSupply on Amazong for $48 ea.  AF1QipOAYQAbKBzGqnPg7L012ShPj2yjJ6Fd8Vsd
