  1. It was definitely a fun filled day!  So sad that I had stupid work stuff that got us there late ?  However the chatting it up with such a great group of people over a ? I mean BBQ ? Was fun!! I always enjoy chatting with everyone.

Thank you Sid for being such an amazing down to earth... totally hysterical host ?  And for the great recommendation for seafood. We had a little there and for some to cook at home. Right off the boat and taaaaasty!!

  2. BBQ recipes are circling around in my brain!! :yippee:  going to do chicken legs on the grill with of course my own flair :cheer: and since no one ever eats the store bought veggie trays going to make one myself ?  Side dishes are welcome but not necessary as we will be driving a ways. Also taking requests if anyone has any burning desires for something special ?

  3. Yay!  Was very sorry to hear that you also lost Jack but great that the new kids are doing well!  I really like seeing a mix of ages together as their interactions can be quite interesting.
Odd Seahorse story... was at Seahorse Aquarium yesterday and wondering why some of the seahorses had white patches.  Apparently the starry blenny in the tank had been "cleaning" them - much to their chagrin.  So... make sure you keep the kids away from any hungry algae blennies!

Wow I had no idea. Thanks for sharing that! Funny I caught a hermit crab "cleaning" one of the adults a few months back and it quickly ended up in Kim's tank lol. No one cleans my ponies but me lol. [emoji33]

  4. As most of you know I recently lost Fred and Jack and I want to tank all of you for your love and support. I especially want to thank Andy for giving me the opportunity to raise 3 of his wonderful babies. I have fallen back in love with my tank [emoji170][emoji172][emoji169]. All three have been eating like champs and Ginger and Diane have taken on the role of mothering them. It's wonderful to see their little personalities and how they are all independent from each other yet totally act like siblings. One is even figured out the feeding dish [emoji106][emoji41]thank you Andy for all of your help and for being a pretty awesome dude [emoji847]

  5.

    Hey all

I need a favor. Kim and I are going camping next weekend and she really wants to learn to fish and I would love to teach her except I don't have any fishing gear anymore. Anyone have some basic gear we can borrow?? Probably looking at mostly light weight trout stuff :)

Will trade frags to borrow your gear!

That's a given !!  If you want delicious food made with love you can't go wrong for any of the choices. I wish there could have been more choices I would have voted for the skewers and the grilled fruit. The grilled pineapple she makes is sooooo good!

Well secretly I was going to grill up some tasty desserts anyway :highfive:

  8. Oh no!  I am very sorry to hear about Fred and hope that Ginger comes through OK.  I know they both mean so much to you and completely understand how crushing it can be to lose a companion - be it fish, dog, cat , bird.  They all can be such important members of the family.
I know you will do your best to help Ginger pull through - just wish there was something we could do to help. Will be keeping our fingers crossed...

Thanks So much. Ginger looks a little stressed this morning but she is trying to eat So that's good. I think just the support of this amazing group is what I need. So much knowledge here and willingness to help. This is why this club rocks!

  9. The seahorses we got from that batch that came so sick are now looking very good and eating. We used Furan2 for 10 days with 50% water changes every day. We have extra meds we can give you if you want to try it. On day 2 of it we could tell it was working.
    I'm so sorry :-(

Oh that is good to know, thanks Naomi. We were thinking about coming out to see you guys tmrw so I may take you up on that and get specifics from you [emoji847] thank you!!!

  10. As many of you know Fred and Ginger have been such a huge part of my life. They are the reason I have my own tank, and that I have built so many relationships with many of you. I watch them when I'm sad and they make me happy. I have learned so much of their behaviors and individual traits. Tonight though I am mourning the loss of Fred. My heart is so very sad. Hey have truly been my companions. Ginger is not looking well and I am treating her and the tank so I am hopeful that she will be a survivor. I feel so silly sitting here at the counter crying but I know that this is a safe and supporting group of amazing people that get my sadness and get my grief. Thank you for your support.

Thank you kim for helping me with Fred's body....and for sitting with me while I cry [emoji177] you are a wonderful partner [emoji8].

  15. I have thanked all the stores and I think all our officers and board members who helped but I also want to make sure a few others who are not in official roles get a shout out particularly Sirena:
She does a lot of behind the scenes work and hours that none of you even know about.
She coordinated the pink party bus and made the countless phone calls back and forth to find us something short notice during prom week!
After a long week at work she stopped twice at Costco and then was up at 5 am making the delicious breakfast burritos. She made them with love and you could sure feel it. I can't get her to go to the gym for me but she got up exhausted to make sure the food was just right!
She also arranged for the order and delivery of the food from Baja Fresh and did most of the set up and clean up.
Zoolander met us at 9am at Cuttlefish and provided us with free premixed high end alcohol. He followed us a long and was very professional. Very honest hard working guy. He's very professional and I would definitely use him for any party planning, promotional , or designing needs including logo designs. He's also just a fun guy to hang out with! He also provided the waivers I used and made a Tropic Thunder reference I didn't understand.. Check out his website:
    https://www.facebook.com/RineauMarketing/

Finally Albertareef aka Sean also met us at 9am so that he could deliver the IM Nuvo tank and food as it would not fit on the party bus over to Upscales. Sirena was going to have to do this and I didn't think it was right that she was not riding on it as she did all of the planning and coordinating of the party bus. Thanks Sean for always being willing to help in a pinch. I hope to see you running for the board.

I get lots of ideas for meetings but they would never come to light without the help of many so thank you. The April meeting was a blast and things like this can only come together with the support of all of you and all of our officers board members and official first lady Sirena!

Thank you Kim! It is truly a pleasure to help out in any way I can. And as we all know I live to cook so really you guys are doing me the favor [emoji849][emoji848]
I want to thank everyone who helped me out... Sean, Andrew, Lauren, Richard... you all carried bags back and forth for me [emoji8]. This is a great group... more than just fish geeks... friends! And I love to see everyone come together for each other! It makes my heart happy!

  16. It was a pleasure to help out - especially since it allowed Sirena to make it on the party bus.  After all the work she put in that would have been unthinkable for her to miss it!  Thanks again for the delicious burritos Sirena!

I can not thank you enough Sean, you truly are a first class guy! I always enjoy my many talks with you while at these events [emoji3] and for you to step up and shuttle food and prizes around so I could ride on the bus was amazing thank you from the bottom of my heart [emoji173]️
