Oops, I didn't read Emerald's post very closely. I didn't mean to try and swoop in on the refractometer. If Emerald ends up not wanting it after all, I could definitely use it, but I obviously see I was a little late with that request. Thanks!

Sorry to hear about having to tear things down. I'm interested in the snails, the frogspawn, hammer, refracotmeter, and salt. I'll send you a PM.

Yeah, we just have to put on the scuba gear!

Just kidding this isn't mine. I've been away (in Atlanta Georgia) for work this week and since I can't see my tank, I went the Georgia aquarium. Unfortunately, my camera died and my coworker only took a couple crappy pics on her cell phone.
The aquarium is amazing! The have 4 whale sharks, some belugas and dolphins among other things. And of course there's a tropical exhibit. The fish were amazing. You can see some corals in the pic, but there wasn't a whole lot. These pics don't do it justice. I definitely recommend going if you are ever in Atlanta!

Great meeting! Thanks for posting the pics Robert! It was great hanging out with you yesterday, long day, but we'll worth it! Thanks to everyone that had a part in arranging the meeting and to all the sponsors!

Right now I only have small frags of red monti cap, they are really just pieces that have broken off the main colony, but we could put them all on a rock and they'll grow together in no time. I'd be willing to pass them along for free if you're interested. I'm in corvallis, feel free to pm me if interested. I'm also willing to share advice, but badxgillen is the one to go to if you really need some solid advice!

Just had to give a shout out to Mandinga (Isaac) at the critter cabana. I stopped by the other day and Mandinga was very helpful. I had a good conversation with him and he helped me figure out some stuff for my tank. Thanks man! Also the store is looking great, with a nice selection of coral. I was last in there about a year before and saltwater section was on the thin side. It looks great now!

I would agree with the alk swings being a likely candidate. I have also heard of super low nutrients being a cause of bottom up stn, but there are plenty of people that run ultra low nutrient systems who don't have stn.

Turkey baster... By far my most used and versatile reefing tool!

Like the title says id like to sell or trade this beautiful large colony of red monti cap. I love it, but it's too big for my tank. I think $65 is a good price, but feel free to make an offer if you disagree. I'd also be interested in trading for some sps. I'm not looking for anything in particular, but I'd prefer a colony. I will consider frags too though. Below are pics of the front and side ( you can see the damsel head for reference, but it's about 8x8 inches)
I'm in corvallis in case it doesn't show below my name.

I am interested in the Jebao 25, I will PM you.

I have the ultra low phosphorous checker and purposely never run the test back to back cause I don't want the headache of trying to decide which number to take .
As far as why the test would first say one thing and then 30 minutes later say something lower, I'm not sure. I will say that I have heard over and over not to leave the reagent in the cuvette because it can stain the glass and throw off your results. However, I would expect that to make the reading go up not down, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, I just thought I would throw that out there.

I might suggest not moving them for a little while. Give them some time to acclimate to the conditions (light, flow...) Just my 2 cents.

^1+ exactly what Mandingo said

Certain areas of rock have more than others, some don't have any of it at all. None of it is on the coral itself and none of the corals are dying or "melting" away. Some of it is on rocks that don't have any coral at all.

Very Kind of you Emerald. I hate to admit it, but I've been reefing for a while now without a refractometer. I've always had plans to get one, but the money always goes to getting more coral. I'm sure others can relate.
