  1. Ive finally got a 4ft tank (72g bowfront), and im starting the research process for potential tang. Im looking for any species suggestions that would do well long term in my tank (dont want to upgrade til Im done renting in another few years. Its hard enough finding someone who doesn't mind the 70 g).

This is a softy/lps reef; high nutrient to keep my pods booming and dragonette fat n happy. All of my fish are peaceful (gobies and blennies for the most part).

Is there a good tang for my tank?

  2. Thanks guys.

Glad to hear those 2 settled in well for u guys. It was sad i couldn't keep em, but all my shrimp would be been snacks;-)

All that room has been so hard not fill in! Silly move stealing my coral budget....but almost thru the worst of the coral shopping limit.

  3. Moved to goldendale over the summer and upgraded my 55g hex. Got a chance to start filling in some of new empty rockwork during the live sale a few weeks ago.

Been also having fun with the expanded list of potential fish the the longer tank and double to maybe triple the rock now.

Acans all seem happy with my upgrade to led lighting (tank came with compact florescent; which promptly fried a power source after I moved)

Acquired one of current favorite fish; a ruby red scooter dragonette (Thank you cuttlefish! )

Happy little guy cruising the tank for pods all day, chasing frozen like crazy at meal times. Loves the freezedried copepods and rotifers a friend sent me to try. Happy lil fish so far

  4. Be a great real world example of why accurately measuring results makes a difference.

And just watching and documenting some of quick growing corals might be a great low budget set up project, green star polyps or some shrooms could teach lots with hands on observations.

  5. I think Jeff called it, looks more like the maxima when compared to google results.

Its definitely a vicious coral. Got pushed into one of my favia a few months ago. Didnt go well for the favia.

  6. Ive had this acan the longest, and its finally putting off a new polyp:-) any ideas what species of acan it is? Its very different (polyp shape, extension) from my other acan, which are a. Lordhowensis.
