I scraped them today on the plug,they were on and dropped my ome chalice :( hope it doesnt die. Seemed to be ok

I know alot of people don't like them because they spread so quick but I had a question when they spread will they overtake other corals (Zoas, any sps or lps) or just grow around them? I just found some in my system and I don't want them to end up over running anything.
