They are feather dusters. They are good

My par with the par56 ten inches from the water start at about 400 and tappers of by about 50 par evey six inches I was about 150 at the bottom of my tank and my lps and zoanthids love it a little higher up at the 180 to 350 range is where my sps ar eand none seem to be showing any signs of needing more light in fact they are doing great with these levels of par and its only 21 watts =)
You give me hope for the 120w in a 40B (fingers) I really want LEDs but the 180w would leave me waiting too long to start the tank. I think I'll take my chances and go with the 120w when I get the tank from Josh. I'll be sure to keep evewryone informed on how it goes and if needed I'll get an additional light source. Thanks for the info on how great the par 56.

@ZachS: Glad you found your way over here after we talked about it on your forum. Kenny usually recommends his 120w for a 2ft cubic area' date=' I'm betting the version with optics would do well over a 40b, perhaps would do best inside a hood, especially if the inside of the hood is painted white, but I'll let him answer to make sure...just my guess.[/quote']
Thank you for the advice on these!
.Depends on if you have a canopy or not. Usually I would say no, but the 40b is not that tall, so you can go higher on the light for more spread and still get the same par. For a regular spread calculation, a 180w would be perfect for the 40b if you like the tank on the brighter side.
Ok thank you, Looks like its time to start saving

How would the coverage be on a 40B with the 120w?
