  1. I think I am leaning towards dosing still, I really dont want a co2 tank in the house and if something were to happen it seems like the reactor could cause more problems faster. Am I wrong? I also don't want to buy a controller, which I have also heard pretty much needs a controller to be safe, like reefnjunkie said.
  2. Thanks you guys for the great input. I was kinda leaning towards the dosing pumps, I bought a reactor and sold it before I even used it because it looked like a lot to worry about during the initial setup. What are the costs for reactor media and co2 vs the dosing liquids(or powders)? What is a good dosing pump? I don't like to go cheap, I have learned that you will more than likely be replacing cheap stuff later on down the road, like my s**tty coralife skimmer that won't create the vortex in the chamber like it used to and was constantly overflowing.
  3. Just thought I would get some new input on the topic. Please don't just answer one or the other, let us all know what you are using and how it has helped. Thanks ahead for any input. I am just thinking it's time to take my tank to the next level. Also please post costs involved if you could.
  4. Can anyone id some of these just from those pictures??
  5. Heading up to Tillamook State Forest this weekend for some trail riding, I have a yz450 that I ride when ever I hear someone wants to go.
  6. I remember him saying atleast fire and ice, ked reds??, oregon ducks, there are some cool looking orange ones.... lets see if i have anything on photobucket. Not real clear and this was right after the transfer. I will get nice pictures once I put them on plugs. This was the pictures from the tank I got them from
  7. And are people really getting $30-45 per polyp?? That's insane I would feel like a complete a hole for charging that. On the other hand, I have approx 1000 or so heads, maybe not rare bu I know a few are because my buddy really didn't want to give some of them up.
  8. Ok, thanks guys.. I will post some pictures once I take care of the hair algae and get everything put on to plugs. I also am going to swap out the 150 for 2 250s, bulbs should be here any day now.
  9. So I have been looking at zoas alot online because I have a 30 breeder pretty much full of them, and it seems that there are about a gazillion differnet names for them. I even see alot that look almost identical that are being called different names by differnet people. Is there a book or site that you can id these with or can I just call them whatever I want when I go to sell them? lol. Thanks for any input.
  10. Still have the stand if anyone wants it.
  11. No one wants this? Going on flake's list when I get home from work
  12. Yeah buddy it's coming, just need to stash a little more cash
  13. You need 1" buddy, I drilled them at 1 3/4"
  14. Yeah I believe in you get what you pay for, but on average they should be replaced every 6-12 months so if you stay on schedule I would think you would be OK.
  15. Yeah I agree, If I would have seen them for that I would buy them. I just can't justify spending $90 on a light bulb, there is better stuff I can buy for my tank tahn that. Besides I could do a multi chip LED build for the price of two bulbs and only have to replace it in like 10 years from now. lol
  16. Man thats a great deal on the halide fixture.... If I was closer I might be tempted to pick that up.
  17. Ebay, I don't care what anyone says, the cheap bulbs look identical to the $90 ones, just paid 47.50 shipped for two 250w 20,000k china bulbs. Swap them out at 6 months instead of 9 the way I see it. These are rated for 9000 hrs but they will fade over time. I would like to see a par comparison between the cheapos and the name brand... Anyone done that before?
  18. FREE!!!!! 120LONG/125 STANDARD STAND ..........................
  19. I think I might see if I can buy the frog spacon, I wonder what color it is?
  20. Yeah but I am not sure when I'll be up next.
  21. Skimmer For Sale $40 .........................
  22. So far no sort of cycle. The only thing I see is the water isn't really clear like it normally is. Might need to throw in a few carbon packs.
  23. ebay is your best bet, got one for 1" and 1 1/2" bulkheads for $30 arrived in 3 days.
