Cant wait to see this come together, people from colorado apparently got some sweet reefing skills
  3. That Tang Heaven sounds like a sweet macro pack, ive been thinking of adding a 5g bucket ran off my return from carbon reactor and doing dsb and macros in there to propigate for him long term
  4. Nice gotta check that out thanks
  5. parker got another tank with built in refuge prob gonna be chopping cheato from there to feed him if and when i can
  6. oh yeah he hasnt taken any foods from me but is warming up to me, hes CONSTANTlY grazing like they always do ive tried, rods mysis, spirulina, and reef formula frozen food for him and none have wanted him to come feed like my other three yet i got plenty of algae since my tank is still new for him to graze for now im also going to put some nori for him and see if he digs that i always feed those three also with pellet food for my clowns and chromis, my oldest clown will eat um out of my hand and such hes tame as can be for Parkers Leaf fish too we got him eating reef formula frozen cubes lol!!! there supposedly hard to feed... we mix that with a diet of mainly silversides with a touch of krill from time to time and the gumbo
  7. yeah ive had a few, traded a few in and lost a couple to ich. i had a rabbitfish and a kole just like him that were best friends lol
  8. The system was drilled this way before i bought it and i went with the flow, and let me tell you it gets some good amount of large random flow, on reason i wanted to do an sps dominant reef. im still having problems deciding on a display refugium $$ wise and id have to get another sump and cycle it etc because the 20l doesnt provide enough head for when power goes out or i kick of pumps if i add more water volume to system draining into it. so im at a crossroads with that i need to first find a need sump and then probably repurpose 20l
  9. Yeah i went it out of stand for convience, my stand is teeny tiny as you saw my skimmer doesnt fit my calc reacor doesnt nor the bottle, not even the sump lol my CL is simple it draws way to much heat and watts to run all the time im just not going to invest in a heater this winter and run the CL longer once it gets cold The sailfin i had was hiding in qt behind bed lol on ground, i got the kole tang from a system bring coppered and he was qted awhile so he went straight in, hopefully i didnt f up
  10. Im not into sports that was all Parker lol i dig it though
  11. i traded in the sailfin and got a member of the family thats staying for life, hes a shy one though "And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine.” The Hangover (so i dont get a lawsuit) lol
  12. Was an indo :(...learned a lesson i already knew bet eh. I tried to feed Manty Ramirez tonight with no answer, he got sucked in my skimmer last night or maybe the night before but hes a champ and swam away, he did eat a snail i put in there a long time ago though i NEVER see him lol Hes maybe 3/4-1 inch of fury. Wish i traoned mine like Islandoftiki ha his is way more active both of um
  13. Thought the pic was decent for my cellphone ha, and thanks
  14. Im in that boat as well. With my tank its shallow id loose so much sq in
  15. http://saltaquarium.about.com/od/filtersfiltrationsetup/a/aadsbdiscussion.htm It all comes down to what jeramy stated really if you are going for dsb it needs to be deep enough to build the anarobic zone FROM WHAT IVE READ im no scientist so idk the logistics but when i did a dsb in my 150 i shot for the 4-5" as recomended for dsb Hopwfully thatll help
  16. On a side note doesnt the apex controller energy bar hold extra power for a powrr outage, i dont have it anymore but if i remember can run a pump for a few hours in emergencies
  17. I voted one inch i have never gone barebottom but is a plan for my tank for the future for thw simple fact of a cleaner tank from what ive read. My 150 i used to fine of sand and had to really mess with flow to not blow sand around,i ended up being unhappy with it and my tank currently i went a 1" maybe less of coral rubble for looks mainly while allowing high flow. These are just my opinions tho i personally do not like a batebottom until its a nice coraline covered bottom
  18. +1 on how its stocked too, ive had the power go out two seperate times for a few hours wih no ill effects. Now Upscales when a pump on the fish system broke the foot long queen trigger sucked all the oxygen out of her tank in a few hours. Sad caused i loved that fish. But yeah as long as you dont got any monster fish a few hours wont kill. Im going to look into those battery back ups though. You did better then i wouldve in that situation fast thinking running the cord from car, wouldve sucked though if you kiled your battery
  19. Nice nice wish i was crafty as you, me and the gf are thinking about startin a terrarium yours is beast but those water dragona get much bigger then id want so beautiful though. Speaking of dragons that dont like to be handled, when travis got his new water dragon in he was putting it in its tank and it took a good bite at him haha
